Question about Drugs and Alcohol

My boyfriend is drinking alcohol and doing drugs (he is 14 right now) and he gets high/drunk about... once or twice a fortnight. I honestly don't know if that's dangerous especially for his (our) age.


Will this be harmful to him? If so, should I tell him to stop drinking/doing drugs OR should I tell him to drink/do drugs less frequently?

I really need help...

 

Its worth you discussing it with him, and stating how you feel about the subject.

Ask though dont force an ultimatum

 

I would personally discuss this with him. Drugs & alcohol are bad at any age. I try to stay as far away from it as I can. I’ve seen it ruin many lives.
Have a serious conversation about it with him, it only gets worse.

drugs and alcohol will always be "bad" for you no matter what the age. That being said some people can enjoy a vice in moderation(once every fortnite for most drugs is not eve close to moderation) without any adverse effects. 14 is definitely way to young to start tho. Any damage you do to your body while your growing will have a multiplied effect.

Also starting to party this hard at 14 will make you end up being bored with the substances/situations your in/taking and you will move onto harder/more dangerous things before you have a chance to properly grown up and mature. Seen it happen to lots of my friends.

I suggest you/him take a look around /r/drugs. Lots of good information there too. When doing drugs you need to be aware of things like recovery time, overdose warnings, harm reduction and always always always test your drugs. Fentanyl is showing up in everything lately and 1 small small small dose of it will drop anyone dead instantly. Especially with no tolerance. One of a very prominent sythe member lost his life to a fentanyl laced mdma pill(RIP). Also knowing that you really really shouldn't take MDMA more then 1 time every 3 months is very important to. Research serotonin sickness and mdma. Its very serious.

Our brains get fully developled by the age 25, some have it developted prior. Taking any substance before that age especially in larger amounts might leave your brain permanent damaged, which can lead to health issues.

Having a drink and a few puffs every other weekend won't do any harm to you. But like @RiskofSTDs said always test what you get doesn't matter from where or who you buy it from. A buzz for a few hours really isn't worth your life.

 

As another user said, don't give him an ultimatum, but YOU should think about the choices you're making. Your 14 years old, do you want to be with someone who is getting high and drunk everyday? You should think about your future and what is best for you. I'm not saying don't try to help him, but he is probably addicted to whatever he's taking, so your help will not do much. Don't ruin your life because he wants to ruin his.

 

drinking once monthly is normal anything past is too much/ drugs past weed are serious offenses imo high chance of failing into a negative lifestyle
