Same difference.

.999999999-repeating DOES equal one, and if u guys somehow don't think that, heres a very quick an easy explanation :
1/3 = .3333
2/3=.66666
3/3= 1!!!!!
IF U MULTIPLY .333333 BY 3, ULL GET .9999, but if u multiply 1/3 by 3, it will equal one.

that is why .9999- equals 1.

if .333 x 3 = .999
then .333 isnt fucking 1/3?

I believe the true definition of "equal to" is that both sides has be to equal to the other. This makes 0.999~ =/= 1, because 1 =/= 0.999~

I'll explain.

It's true that the irrational number 0.333~ can be rationalized into 1/3, and three of those makes 1. HOWEVER, 3/3 cannot be derationalized into 0.999~ because 3/3 irrevocably equals 1, therefore making 1 =/= 0.999~


Rational =/= irrational.

all he proved (well he didn't prove it, somebody else did) is that .9999999999999999999999999999999999 can resemble 1 which was so obvious that it didn't need to be mathematically proven in the first place.
