Project Genesis

Hello. I am a dev from an up and coming WoW private server, Project Genesis.

We intend to remove all of the items and monsters from WoW, and do it our way. You will start out at level 70, and level at 5x to 150.

We need more active devs to work on this, because the process has been slow-going so far. We have 7 devs currently. You can apply to help us here. Fill out this application:

completely redoing ALL the items... are you joking ? thats just plain crazy honestly... why not keep the old ones and build custom ones as well...

 

Dark is right, that would take years of work for the NPC's alone. The items would take even longer considering what you have to think about (dps, different gear for different specs, enhancements, sockets, etc.) I highly recommend you just add custom items to the existing Blizzard ones, or at least just change the stats and such of existing ones.

 

I have previously made custom populated areas on wow servers with custom quests and rewards... that would be a better option... maybe take the NPCs out of one zone and re-do it too begin with and see how you go...

 

I've seen that done before, with Deadmines. I've also seen people use the display id for a instance portal thing (not familiar with the actual name ) and put it on a portal somewhere, and then make it teleport the player to an unused instance such as Stormwind Vault

 

We have an estimated time of completion set at six to eight months. I think that's reasonable, but we just need more people.

 

Your idea is cool, but to be honest it won't last and you'll regret the hard work you dealt into this project. Take Burning-WoW's Project Shadowmoon for example, they tried the same thing and are still working on it to this day with almost no interest. Feel free to go through with it though, I'm not trying to stop you. Good luck.
