Private bot Client

Looking to learn more about value in regards to having a private bot farming client built from the ground up.


Client would need to have automated muling & a viewable interface with task and muling functionality on all accounts so I can remotely monitor my farm from my cell phone or other operating system.

Wondering if this job can be done (properly) for between 3 & 5kusd?

I'll put a TL;DR/more direct answer to your question at the bottom.

I assume you're wanting all of the functionality and maintenance mentioned in the buy thread you made previously.

I think it really depends on how strict you are on some of your requirements. If someone puts in the time to make what you've detailed, I can't see them handing over the rights of the product to you except for a hefty fee on top.

Likewise, regular updates just aren't going to happen on a flat fee if you are the only person using this product....there's no incentive to keep working on the project if more people aren't buying in.

There's also a problem with familiarity that is 2-fold IMO. I could describe what you want to lots of colleagues and have them produce a working product - but they would know nothing about RS/OSRS and there is bound to be a lot of issues because of that. To overcome this you obviously get someone that knows RS/OSRS and has the skills to do this...but if they were to do all this work, they're either going to want to put it into action themselves or - as stated previously - sell multiple copies of the product.

Tossing aside the above, no one is going to do as much work as previously described without a deposit. A big job like this would typically have an agreed timeline of initial deposit of X% (20% is typical and reasonable), further payment made at an agreed upon completion point (product half done and another 30% is given, for example) and then the remaining balance paid upon delivery of the completed product (the exact points where you touch base on progress and exchange funds is up to mutual agreement, this is just an example). Someone's not going to work on this for who knows how long sucking moisture out of old potatoes to stay alive - they'll need funds.

To address your core question, I think for the price range you've specified you can almost definitely find someone to do the work but it wouldn't be on the terms you've specified in your other thread. I'd be cautious of having a set price for the product in mind, though - and make sure you and the person doing this have very clear terms set out from the get go just in case things drag on, problems arise, etc.

This would be a very interesting and worthwhile project if I had the time (I wish I saw something like this a year ago to commit time to) but it's a project that I see as fairly unpredictable - there are bound to be issues to work out and it would be very difficult having a strict time line (which in turn makes it difficult to have a set price unless the price agreed was already inflated to account for this).
