Post count does not matter?

Wow True!

I agree with others saying that both post count AND join date will make you not only seem, but BE legit.

Ultimately post count is nothing but a mere illusion of stature and dedication. Join dates on the other hand should be taken with pride, as they solidify your endurance and commitment to the site- and when i say endurance... i mean maintaining an active, trustworthy sythe career for all of these months, or in some cases- years.

Join dates shouldn't be taken TOO seriously however, as there are many original users out there under a different alias, and obviously a latter join date.

I would venture to say post count matters to a certain extent... Wouldn't completely trust somebody if they have 1000 posts, but make 150 posts per day.

What matters is a combination of how much effort you have putted in your account, therefore how much you'll loose if your getting banned.
A person with 56 posts, and 2 vouches have nothing to loose, so big risk of getting scammed here. On the other side, a person with 2000 posts and 300 vouches have alot to loose in case of getting banned.
So, what matters is (in my opinion); post count, vouches (not the amount, but the value of them together), and ranks.

Post count means nothing.
Disagree, someone who is a guru or grandmaster clearly values there account more than another person so that the chance of scam is less likely, they have put time into sythe as well.

Also, donator I would class this as a big factor as well as vouches.

I'm agreeing with the majority of what most people are saying here. It's all in a good Mixture of Vouches/Posts/Join Date.

If the trade is small, I just look at Vouches, and check a few if there legit. Posts are next, if they have a large amount, but in a decently long period of time, thats better, And then Join date.

In Larger Trades, I check Almost all the vouches, and see if the vouches are applicable for the current trade. E.g, a person with 20 service vouch's is not as good as 20 Pin selling vouches if i was buying pins from him. I then check scam reports, etc.

Posts are Semi-Important. Shows the amount of dedication you have, but it depends if there posts are spam or not.

Then it would depend on what his vouches were from and who they were from.

As some of you say, anyone can get post-counts, if people don't trust me. Then I don't really care, I will not be an hourly poster here and I will probably not get 300 posts in the nearest future :P

This is halfway true,
Post count doesn't just mean that you post alot, it also means that you can actually stay on sythe without getting banned, and you can earn respect by staying active on the site..
Anyone can make an account with 1-5 posts, INCLUDING someone who just got banned from sythe, or a previous scammer.
That's why post count means so much.

This is like asking "What came first? The chicken or the egg?".

There is a lot of controversy upon this topic, yes, most scammers usually have low post counts because they are putting most of their efforts into talking to you and dragging you into their webs, but then there are the other 20% of scammers who go around posting a lot just to get a high post count, to seem trusted and then drag you down.

Then there are LEGIT people who go around posting a lot to get their post count up because if they dont, people usually wont trade them so they can get their first vouches.

As you can see, people NEED posts, as well as vouches to earn trust. Otherwise, how are leechers with no vouches going to get trusted? Most people do not trade leechers, therefore they get no vouches.

Im my opinion, post counts contribute a lot to trading in sythe, but are not to be 100% trusted, try to avoid larger trades with people who have high post counts, but no vouches. Im not saying to not trade with them, Im just making it clear to give them some trust, but not too much, at least until they get some vouches.

You may think I am a little biased, because of my post count and all, but I too am one of those guys trying to earn my first little bit of trust through post count, in order to get my vouches up and really contribute to sythe.

Postcount doesn't matter, if u got like 1000 posts, 0 vouche's than ur not trusted or something.
More vouches = More trusted.

I read a while ago on this thread someone say that it is a combination of all the factors; join date, posts and vouches, as well as the reason for vouching and who vouched them. I always click the little linky button to the vouch so that I can see who vouched them and how many posts they had.
IMHO, I would trust a Guru with say 10 vouches over a member/forum addict with 15-20 (unless the 15-20 are in the one service, and I am using that service).
