Actually sounds like a good idea, apart from the fact that people could get 1k Postcount in a section and never post again (as said in the posts above me).

You could make it like 1000 postcount to get the minirank, and 10 Posts every 1-2 weeks to keep it.

That defeats the entire purpose, wouldn't like to see that. If I post 1000 times in my favorite section that point would be to get a permanent minirank.

If you stop posting in there...so? No one is holding a gun to your head telling you to post. If anything, this minirank makes you more active for a decent length of time. Someone might move onto another section, but..so?

Fair enough. Still don't think it's worth it. Someone has to manually go through and add all the ranks. Plus you're still encouraging posting for the sake of post count. Still no support.

Manually? what are you on about?
If Matthew can make it so he can set post count/week to retain a minirank (how it is now) it can be done automatically with 1k too.

Why in the world would any participation rank be manually given?

With all the minirank talk, this would be a nice addition as well. 1k posts is enough.

With a high PC requirement, if support. You won't get 1k posts "relatively fast" in a single section.
