[PENDING] Bump timer for sections

Yeah a timer for know when you can bump

 

I want to get a lot of these features added in TC, I'll discuss it internally a little more.

I support this as well. Not a bad idea. Tech crew should be able to take care of it.

I wasn't involved with Sythescape, I had a thread of ideas about it to make it successful, I assume none of them were used. One of the main ones included actually having a visible play button somewhere prominent. I wasn't around that time so I'm not sure what happened. I'll try to push harder for these bump improvements.

 

I'm pretty sure a version of this - which suggested not allowing you to post before x hours has passed - was shot down in the past. It is not clear to me how you get around the issues of: 1) two-hour vouch bumping being allowed, and 2) other people posting on your threads.

If this does get implemented, it better be optional... but I'm in the no support camp for once

Ah, like a timer you can set yourself? (like Online Timer) That might be easier to work with given the rules.

 

Just never reply to your own thread and it probably won't appear.

(edit) A little less tongue-in-cheek, hat I'm saying is that this would already basically be in market sections anyway, and it's a subtle timer than anyone could expect if they also get a message when they try to reply that the timer hasn't reset. I believe it's already suggested in a non-intrusive area, and it could even be moved somewhere completely relevant like near the reply box so people know they cannot reply until X amount of time. Any other site could easily be expected to have this feature if they have limits, it's unrealistic to expect people to set a timer, and it really doesn't hurt anyone enough for it to "better be optional."

 

I feel like I recall this (or something similar) being suggested and denied, as well, shortly after the bump rules were revamped. There used to be a message that popped up preventing you from posting more than once within the allotted time frame.

I do support this as long as it's an easy implementation. Otherwise, it isn't hard at all to keep track of when you last bumped your threads.

 

I think this would be a cool add-on. Support.

 

I don’t think this is truly necessary. Maybe something simpler like a notification for when you can bump certain threads would be cleaner and easier.

 

Maybe a new option in the whole forum where the user himself can select which thread he wants to be notified when he can post again?
