Paypal is a joke.

So, about a week ago.. Some sythe lurker tried to use the chargeback trick on me and I used a mule paypal account.

although my idea did not work, the chargeback was denied and I was thinking, awesome. Although I did have the problem with my account being limited.

Being a mule account, I used a fake name, and to add a bank account the name must be matching, so I provided a photo id.
This morning I received an email from paypal telling me that I can't appeal my limitation, and that if my account has any funds, I have to wait 180 days to even have the option of withdrawing the funds.

Now i'm screwed for $300 and paypal is sitting there enjoying money that I can't access. Couldn't this be seen as wrong? I was willing to do the necessary steps in order to get the money, and was denied.

Fuck paypal.

Lol they are indeed for kids, nothing else i have to say. I had to wait half year is well for 500$, then took it out into my bank account, even when Paypal was on fake name hehe =p

 

So you lied about your identity, then provided them with your real photo id?

 

The account was intended to be a mule account, one I would close after the transaction, so yes I used a false name(they have an option regarding false names at signup, so I assume it's very common) and I provided a photo id to get the name changed, then link my bank account.

They aren't in the wrong if you provided false information. Somewhere in their TOS i'm sure it says something.

Even if having a false name is allowed, you are definitely not allowed to have 2 paypal accounts.

 

If you have to wait 180 days to get access the money and the details were false, it's pretty much GF. The account is probably permanently limited/banned as well.

 

I got my OLD Paypal limited for being under age, it has 1.95, the account is colombian so I can't receive cash... I just ditched it.

so I think you're lucky they're even willing to let you have it in 180 days.

paypal is not for little kids it's for adults that is why you kids get ripped off constantly you do not know how the site works and what rules apply to where. I have used paypal for at least 6 years and have went through a good 20k or more without a single dispute that wasn't in my favor.

 

I'd say use MoneyBookers, I try not to use PayPal at all these days.

 

The thing is with MB is that no one ever uses it, and you can only transfer funds through itself.. Same applies with PP but almost everyone uses it. I've had no problems with PP, but I don't trade with sketchy people, or little kids..

 

You can't possibly think that paypal is at fault here.. You totally tried to fuck them.

 

I had the same issue, I sold over 100mil in gold and the fucker charged me back but I was smart enough to send the money before he did the charge back to a friends paypal for him to withdraw it.

I lost the charge back and I've been -$95.35 ever since, and paypal wants me to pay for that.

 

I got paid $1.1K for selling something on eBay then I sent it to my mom's PayPal e-mail and PayPal got all in my business and limited my account + refunded my $1.1K....I'm like...wut? WTF was the point of that?

So, now, I have $1.1K with a limited account and now I have to go through the process of unlimiting it and I have a strong feeling PayPal is going to make it difficult for me to get the cash out and if they do, I'm calling them and going to cuss them out, tbh.

If you ever deal with PayPal, deal using PlayerAuctions or MoneyPak.

 

The fact that you admit to using a fake name warrants Paypal's security precautions. -.- Like everyone else in this thread has stated, use PlayerAuctions.

 

Are you stupid? You need PayPal for PlayerAuctions...so, that doesn't solve the case, lol.

You dont use a fake name on a mule account because this exact scenario can happen- theres nothing linking you to the account apart from the fact that you know the user/password- I'm failing to understand why you thought providing an ID would help >.<. For next time you open a fresh one under your name.
