You must realize that the threat does not lie within the refugee or even FROM the origins of these refugee's. The real threat lies within our OWN governments...

I hope you understand this one day... open your eyes kids

Classic Laptop. For a faggot you are surprisingly right wing and close minded.

My condolences to all of those affected. I'm simply at a loss here, these terrorists are cowards plain and simple preying on unexpecting civilians. Hopefully this is the push to unite and end isis once and for all but I can't help but worry over what is yet to come..

This a sick world we all live in.

I'm thinking more like this everyday especially with the homeless in the north America already. Why do we value others above our own people especially while within the others could be members of a terrorist group.

My little sister is supposed to be taking a school project trip there in three weeks which my parents have paid for.

I'm not entirely sure if this will still be going ahead but these situations are just getting out of hand.

    Cba arguing
There are bad people and there are good people.
Terrorists suck and I hope they just blow eachother up instead of killing innocent people.

Also USA killing innocent people with drones doesn't somehow make them (USA) terrorists ?

Honestly can't believe some of the views and regurgitated nonsense being posted in this thread that mimic the media coverage of the event to a T. I watched a little last night as it unfolded, and even without conclusive ideas about what was going on it was a constant stream of 'Syria bad, refugees bad.'

This is wrong. Extremists shouldn't fall under the refugee umbrella, we are not 'letting these people in'. the 99.9% crossing the borders are people fleeing certain death at the hands of these same maniacs, and if the shoe was on the other foot and we had the misfortune of being born there we'd expect to be allowed the same courtesy.

I seen someone post above that we are prioritising these people over our own - no. 120 people die in Paris and the world is on it's knees, the same amount die in Burj al-Barajneh the day before under the same circumstances and honestly, nobody in the west cares. Another day in the Middle-East. if these attacks teach you anything, it's that every life matters and nobody should have to suffer this.

Like I said, not all of the people entering Europe as "refugees" are terrorists or migrants, some are actual genuine cases. However, how are we supposed to tell the difference between someone who may want to cause harm to the west, or someone is just genuinely wanting to get away?

So the way I see it (bearing in mind we have no way to know who is dangerous or not, they can just lie to any question they are asked). We have two options:

    - Let anyone come to Europe (and possibly the US later on), regardless of who they are or where they are coming from. In addition to potentially dangerous persons coming into Europe un-checked, people who are also not actual refugees and are just coming in to get a free house, handouts each week etc; Obviously the latter is not exactly a threat to anyone, but they are a waste of resources and money.

    - Let no-one in, making it very difficult for terrorist groups to bring in more "soldiers". There would be less undocumented people for our law enforcement / intelligence agencies to have to keep tabs on and free up the workload so they can focus on existing potential threats in their respective countries.

Personally I would only take children in, everyone else who is older is a potential threat and could be brainwashed. So we can either take people in and increase the risk to our safety, or only take children (or no one at all) in and lower the chance of more potentially dangerous people coming here.

These people sure look like they are grateful for getting away from their war-torn home...

Same reason why old people deny help and seem ungrateful. They struggle to accept the crappy situation they are in. Do you really think these refugees want this? They are probably just trying to blow off steam. Its like you are trying to portray them all with one video lol.

...Yes? People always migrate to where there are more resources (work, gov't benefits, etc). Also, they all follow a doctrine of violence and hate called Islam, and it's absolutely fucking retarded that people are now feeding and housing the Islamic armies that are flooding into their countries and now massacring infidels like Allah commanded them to.

Lol lets prevent this thread from becoming the pro vs anti-islam thread I hoped it wasn't going to become. I'll say I disagree and encourage you to learn more about people who are different than you with an open mind. Also @ laptop same thing applies, I disagree, but I won't argue. Imo they deserve a place to stay, at least temporarily, in a place where they don't have to worry about conflict.

You do realize that these are the people that the immigrants are trying to get away from, right?

And I honestly can't believe you'd make such an ignorant statement, I always thought you were an intelligent guy. Are you going to stigmatize 1.57 billion (almost a quarter of the Earth's population) because of the actions of a few? ISIS's actions are condemned by quite literally every mainstream Islamic organization. Calling Islam a doctrine of violence and hate because of extremist groups is like calling the Bible a doctrine of violence and hate because of extremist groups (KKK and other far right-wing nut jobs that blow up abortion clinics).

Also, you're basically falling into the hands of ISIS's strategy when you blame all of this on Islam. By lending attackers the title of "Islamic terrorists," you are giving them credibility. ISIS calls itself an Islamic organization in an attempt to gain legitimacy and insert itself into the sphere of international discourse. ISIS wants to see an increase in backlash against the global Muslim community, because that only strengthens its narrative that the West is locked in an ideological battle which is diametrically opposed to Islam. Don't believe me? Read "The Management of Savagery", a book written by Abu Bakr Naji, a radical Islamist thinker, which is considered by Think Progress, the Washington Post, the Guardian, and basically every think tank to be the root of ISIS's strategy.

There is a difference when they do it because they have no choice. This has nothing about work, government, etc. It is about staying alive for them. I'm sure a lot of these people would not be migrating if they knew they would be safe.
