They can not 'scan your computer' as that is an invasion of privacy which invades the privacy act in the United States. They can scan your RuneScape cache, but anything outside of that is restricted. That's complete bullshit, how they honestly detect botters now days is to find multiple people doing the same movements and actions (algorithms as well) in a script to play the game for you. If they see a similarity for long periods of time you get flagged. After being flagged for a few days to a week and you continue to bot you can get banned (or even if you bot within that particular amount of time) there's no way to see if you get flagged or not, but you can see if you have increased randoms, that would be a sign to stop for awhile

The only bots doing this are BCEC clients from what I know. Reflection bots do not modify your cache. Therefore as they have the right to view your cache, and you use a BCEC client then your account is more at risk apposed from using a reflection, yes? There has been debates on if BCEC clients are more detectable than reflection, which I've always said BCEC clients are more detectable than reflection. Not sure who is right here, but you have a point that I'm adding onto.

Maybe some of us posting here are also moderators?

And the moderator in the picture wasn't telling the truth, far from it.

I highly doubt this. They shouldn't have access in our computers whatsoever.

That mean they didn't have enough proof to ban you.

If they are doing this, they will have to give Malware to your computer, doing this...well this sums it up.

yes, that applies to most malware/spyware/viruses. A big company like jagex doing it to everyone who plays their game would be much easier to catch. The English police would also be more helpful than the Nigerian police in your example. Sorry, but that article really has nothing to do with this.

Exactly. There is no way they can scan your computer because if they were able to do that then they would also be able to ban all other accounts used on your computer and I've botted numerous accounts with my main NEVER being even looked at.

Valve does something similar with their anti-cheating software, it would be fair to assume jagex check the cache file for inconsistencies.

P Mod Talks About Detection System.

    Explain?
Pmods know nothing about Jagex's bot detection systems, they're just players who are supposed to monitor the game.
