[OSRS] How to safely do a recovery test?

Hi. Someone wants to buy my account, and they said they'd like to try a recovery test. Basically, after they give the MM their payment to hold, I would tell them my best recovery question answers in attempt for them to recover the account.

Is there anything I need to watch out for or know before attempting this?

 

I'm pretty sure someone stated if someone wanted a recovery test, to have them message a mod so the mod can tell them that it is point less to have a recovery test done

 

Recovery tests don't work anymore.
Original IP > any recovery information info given.

Ie; If the original account owner recovers, and you have perfect account information they'll still decline it saying " Account has been returned to the original owner"

I'm saying this because I had bought an account irl from a friend 5 years ago, and after I moved to Italy for studies, 4 years later (and a maxed account later..) he recovered the account. Even though the account had been in my possession for 4 years, jagex basically said "fuck you" and blocked the rsn, meaning everytime i try recover gets insta denied.


The only chance you have is to buy from a reputable seller, or find a guy that accepts paypal so you can chargeback if shit hits the fan (majority of newcomer/scammers ask for rsgp only is because they know they can't get chargebacked.)

I'd highly highly suggest overpaying for an account from a trusted person on Sythe then. While it may cost a fair bit extra, it's worth it to actually keep the account, rather than transfer money onto it and have it recovered shortly after.

 

There is no 'safe' way to do a recovery test. The original owner can always recover - even if you do a recovery test and it's successful.

When buying an account, you're putting marbles on the person who sold you the account. Find someone trusted, don't get scammed

 

the first owner has the power to recover mainly because of his ip.
