Make your own hd client then Jamflex.

I understand the rationale and the logic but it's time to poll an HD toggle, if these randos can make a client that good I'm sure a multimillion dollar company with a dedicated development team can get the job done.

If it fails a poll so be it. But it wouldn't. So poll it.

 

I doubt they want to put in any effort for HD.

They can't even make quests even though the whole community wants to see more.

I think we'll see it eventually, but as usual, it's on Jagex time. AKA way too late.

Pretty disappointing though, I was really hoping to play on this.

Jamflex too busy profiting off of OSB. Its smart from business standpoint but that standpoint always screws over the masses.

Doubt they will ever send the code. JigglyPlex is just looking to take legal action.

They Jebaited the OSHD devs into taking down their client and nearly got the code.

It's not happening, as I know they stole/ripped all of Jamflex's assets.

I just really hope it wakes them up and they consider making their own HD option.

 

As someone who was never going to use HD, it sucks that people who truly wanted won't get it anytime soon.

 

Hopefully they just say screw jamflex and let us use it.

 

i'm surprised with all the discussion about it that jagex aren't doing more, yes oldschool had a massive playerbase but so did HD, im a oldschool player myself but i wouldn't mind from time to time to switch to the HD side of it, it looked amazing.

but knowing jagex this'll probably never happen.

 

Creators are backing out of it, Jagex made the right call tbh. These 2 guys were shady fucks.

Still hope it catapults Jagex to making their own HD client eventually.

Its complete bs that it triggers bot detection. They literally singled out A Friend and banned him to show their "faulty system" and the "dangers of using the client".

 

If you try going to the OSHD website you get a blank page with one message that reads:

"We'll be respecting Jagex's wishes and terminating the OSHD project. Thanks to everyone who showed interest in the project - it's been a pleasure to serve you guys. The OSHD team."

1- So (from what it seems to me) they did not provide Jagex with their code which is shady in itself, why withhold the code unless you are hiding something, literally no reason for it.

2- Jagex, in their statement, said that the OSHD team would have to alter their program in order to cooperate with Jagex's bot detection system, but naturally seeing as the OSHD team is just some random people Jagex has no affiliation with, they were not ready/willing to tell them how to avoid bot detection...which is entirely understandable, but maybe if they provided the code Jagex could have worked with them...

3-They decided to scrap the project entirely which, in my honest opinion, seems like they were doing something they shouldn't have been doing, like when you're a kid and your parents catch on to something you've been doing so you just kind of drop it completely to avoid any further trouble.

All in all I think that the OSHD team just shot themselves in the foot. It's understandable that a portion of the OSRS community likes the idea of an HD client, but Jagex who aren't the ones who even came up with the HD idea has no commitment to this project as it just showed up out of nowhere, so nobody can hold them accountable if they decide not to go through with a project they never proposed in the first place...

 

They also said it took 2 people working on it full time for 2 years to make it, and they scrapped it in a day

 

Also they're pretty shafted since they used jagex's assets so its either get sued for copyright infringement or lose the client itself.

It should be toggle-able, so those who want it can have it and those who don't aren't forced to embrace it, pretty lame it flags people for bans...
