Why in that post does he say, "inflection bots"?

 

Wow... Jacmob, looking back in the past he was against Jagex and his dream was to rule the RS with bots. Looking in today's future 2012, he's start reign is to remove all bots from the game to be played fair. I doubt Jagex will keep him on temporary basis when his work is finished he will be fired. Jagex isn't foolish to keep a kid who ruined the RS in the early start of its game. Back to Optimus, it seems that he stated 'the beginning'.

Jacmob is good at updating and removing all injection bots out of the game, so I think the "Optimus Chapter" will be long than we thought.

Where did you get color bots from that.. That'd be like if I said hotburger and you're like yeah hot dogs and chickens.

So who thinks PB is going to be down for another 6-12 months? And 3 months after all other injection bots get released too.

 

I think you mean injection and reflection.

 

Bots will never be permanently stopped. A problem always has fixes and I think Optimus is mostly just to build up some hype and deter the botters.

I dont mind bots, but I dislike bot farms, but I do like cheap gold

 

This is confirmed only a test. They're going to hammer the rest of the bots. Hopefully they hit RID because they're cheap F's.

 

It wouldn't do jack to rid.

 

Funny, i logged in today not knowing about this update and I actually did find that gameplay was a hell of a lot smoother/just better in general!

 

Epibot came back for 30% of people (Me being one) with 12 Hours of the update

 

Hmm.. looks like Jagex will find some way to stop colour bots in the future too.

 

Yeah, and make the graphics unplayable.

 

i see no point in them stopping the injection or color, there will always be other bots

 

I still see no way that Jagex can totally stop colour bots. They can slow colour bots or knock them out temporarily with a graphical update and that's about all they can do.

The only way to knock colours out would be to upgrade to a download-type of game, not client-based game. Which I think may not happen anytime soon.

 

Exactly because making the game solely client based would alienate a large customer base. That is what Runescape is famed for, a browser based MMO.

 

What jagex need to do is:
1: Manually ban most of the bots.
2: Start improve their game.
By trying to attack bots, especially color bots using their failed anti bot detection isn't going to work and more resource intensive... Just put your men into work....

Either way, I believe the actual update comes in a few days.

 

I know that RiD won't be touched by this Optimus threat, from what I've heard around a few p mods, it's merely a game engine/infrastructural work to make it more difficult for 'inflection' bots to return.

However, I am curious as to what they intend to do about the remaining OpenGL and color bots.
