One Punch Man - New art style?

Anyone have any opinions on the new art style?

I personally am struggling with it, I know it isn't too much different, but my main concern is how the fights are seemingly glossed over, they have either been covered in smoke so far or just don't show whats happening at all then skip to the aftermath.

Seeing Saitama evaporate his enemies with a punch was one of the reasons the show was awesome, I really believe I'm going to struggle watching the show going forward if the whole season is like this.

Maybe I will have to switch to the manga fully, I haven't read ahead too much so far.

the animation is clearly worse yet im still as invested in the show, if not more. these eps so far have been amazing to watch. just like the first season there wasnt that much depth with the fights in the beginning but its more about building a foundation for whats to come.

 

I miss madhouse's animation, but it's still ok atm.

i mean compared to last season it's better. literally plot last season was, strong monster come kill and monsters get progressively stronger

This season has more focus on the supporting cast which is good and if you have seen the latest episode, there's definitely a stronger plot than last season (im assuming you saw the post credits of last episode, if not, go watch it now)

That's what made OPM good imo.

If they follow the manga 1:1 (without skipping) then this season is going to end up as a disappointment. S3 is where it'll pick up.

tbf i havent read the manga so i don't know whats coming up. personally though i feel like the shows more than just "op character beats every monster" now and that's a plus for me

The author ONE is incredibly talented. You should check out Mob Psycho 100.

Some reactions out there are making it look like the end of the world. I'd understand it if they animated OPM like Berserk, but the current one ain't that bad.

honestly i love it, watched some clips from s1 and yeah it is Better but people make too big of a fuss about it, some guy complained about the goketsu scene when it was literally the same in manga lol. i didnt watch the s1 manga so cant tell if anime outdid the manga, and if the anime was as good as manga then the plot is to blame not the animation imo.

 

If you watched Gigguk's video, he discussed the change in art studios. I'm personally not a fan.
