I swear, there is nothing that pisses me off more then seeing some kids or some person in the gym making fun of another person in the gym, just because they are "over-weight." It's really sad when I see these people, pointing and laughing at a guy on the treadmill whose obese or an overweight woman trying to do some exercises.. WHY ARE THEY MAKING FUN OF THEM? I have the utmost respect when I walk into the weight-room and I see someone who is overweight in there trying to get better and actually do something.. There are a lot of people out there that just give up and don't care.. But actually seeing someone in there trying to fix the situation they are in is extremely motivating..

Sorry for the rant.. But if you are one of those "type" of children that does that, think about what it would be like in their shoes and instead of laughing and pointing fingers.. Try to be encouraging and help them through it.

I've always been the type of person who calls people out when they do shit like that and make them feel bad for doing what they did. Not only at the gym, but back in school when I'd see someone making fun of people who had a disability, or people who couldn't afford nice shoes and nice clothes. Something about it just makes my blood start pumping even if I know I shouldn't say anything I have to, I can't be the guy who just walks by and ignores it.

Great rant and mindset, but like the other posters here I have never personally witnessed that happen in real life. That said, I go to a small, locally owned-and-operated gym rather than one of those big chain operated gyms (I call them Wal-Mart gyms lol). The gym I attend is very welcoming and there is no judgment passed--instead it is just a congregation of individuals with the universal goal of becoming harder/better/faster/stronger. We would not stand for some asshole making fun of anyone for attempting to better themselves, because shaming someone away from working out is exactly not what any of us are here to accomplish.

Nice man, there's actually a video floating around on youtube of fighting a bully my sophomore year in college. It's horrible quality, but basically what happened was we had this kid with a disability in our school who was an extremely good artist and the local news crew was coming in that day to interview him during his lunch. I'm not sure what disability he had but he wore ear muffs at all times and was always smiling and looked happy all the time. I was eating my lunch when I noticed a group of people sitting scattered across three table sections laughing and making fun of him while the camera crew was setting up, and for the first time ever I saw an emotion come across his face showing that he actually knew they were making fun of him and something inside of me told me I had to do something about it. One guy was the instigator in the whole thing Corey Cappelli was his name. After the news crew did their thing I called him out in the hall way and being a tough guy like he was he called me out as well. We decided to fight after our classes, because he was a tough guy after all.

The now mother of my daughters little cousin was there because her aunt was picking her up that day, so he started recording it on his shit quality phone. The quality is actually so bad that you can hear people yelling, Corey, Justin, Jordan, Brandon, and other names that I can't even make out. What they were actually yelling was Corey and Justin but the quality mixed with so many voices kind of merged together so it's hard to make out, anyway I've dug up the video. I only knew 3 people there, one of my friends, my now baby momma (which it shows her for about half a second in the video), and her little cousin. Everyone else was either Corey's friend or a random person. They broke the fight up 2 other times off camera and he eventually gave up and walked away with his buddies, never to make fun of that kid again while I was still enrolled at that school. I'm not sure who owns this youtube channel but I think it's just a random person.

Can't stand people who think that because they were born into a nice family without any problems they can make fun of people who were born with issues that they have no control over.
