Maybe your consistent buyers know this rule you made up, but I doubt everyone will know. Its not fair to them. If you don't feel like making new private emails all the time, then be prepared to refund if anything happens. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Really? Any sythe user than can read sees my request at least two times when viewing my profile anywhere.... I tell them to get a PM for security. Thats my end. Theirs is to do it, and if they dont, I wont be liable. Sorry.

 

You will be unless this bullshit rule is implemented. Hackers are smooth with their words, and unsuspecting people can fall victim. Its not their fault that your email address got hacked.

It doesn't matter how many times you ask for a PM, fact is some people get fooled. Like I mentioned earlier, that rule is just for your protection, it shouldn't be a refund-free pass.

 

There is no loop hole, just do not use the random info again and secure your accounts, the points is, that these were unsecure MSN's, if you can not secure it - refund the people, end of the topic.

 

I am telling you right now, I will be complying with all of the email security standards posted in the SL. But if my email is still hacked, and a ton is scammed because the people did not request a PM, then that will be my farewell to Sythe, as I refuse to pay for something out of my control.

It is not my fault if my email gets hacked, nor is it my fault that people do not get a PM like I say on every business thread, in my sig, and in my UT.

 

Your email address is supposed to be in your control. Its no different than having your sythe.org account hacked.

 

No, because unlike Sythe accounts, email accounts can be easily hacked since the provider has systems in place which allow it to be recovered.

 

Sythe accounts can be hacked from data base leaks, recovery email, ip knowlege, etc. The specifics are different, but generally still the same concept.

 

When you own a vehicle, and leave your doors unlocked and the key in the ignition whos fault is it when it gets stolen Nate? You want to blame the thief for doing what thieves do? Or do you want to blame the person who made it easy for the thief? It was your responsibility to maintain your own security and you blew it. You cant blame a lack of security on your part, on a hacker doing what he does consistently.

 

Same concept, but waayyyyyy different specifics. My sythe account has never been hacked, and even if it were there are other safeguards in place to make sure no one scams with it.

With messenger, there is no such security checks in place, hence the need for a change. This is what I have come up with. Offer up a reasonable alternative if you care to, but otherwise us continuing to disagree on the same points is just spamming tbh.

 

I guess you might aswell say people will get refund depending on the circumstances, but i see giddy talks truth you cannot blame the victim on getting scammed when you are responsible to report your email hacked asoon as its hacked like i said most people just look to see if the email is the real one on your sythe profile and if it is there happy to trade even though it is common sense to ask for pm not meny people do but i still dont think it is there fault ether yours i think its down to circumstances of the trade.

Thats the most stupid metaphor I have ever heard. I already told you that I keep the email as secure as possible from everything that anyone has ever said about how to keep it secure. But even with keeping it secure, they can still be hacked (to correlate it to your example, my keys were in my house, doors locked, and the thief broke the glass and stole from the car, entirely out of my control).

And I wasnt taking a shot at you, but I am not some kid who takes their account security for granted.

I do see them, yet I address them with equally valid points. If it is just as easy, then why are staff MSN hackings so much more frequent than staff Sythe account hackings?

 

Because staff have extra security that normal users don't have. Come on now, its not all about you Nate.

 

But in reality most people aren't going to repay more then 50-200 if their msn is hacked and people are scammed, your just losing trusted members this way. If Video for example is expected to repay 50% of the partyhat that's $750 by the looks of it, you can say goodbye to Video now most likely.

And I have yet to hear of that many staff hackings in comparison to frequent staff MSN hackings.
