The tattoo itself doesn't look all too bad IMO, but $550 is a bit too overpriced. =[

Taking a closer look this time, instead of skimming:

The area circled in red looks like tell-tell signs of paint.

Lol..That is all shading, no outline. You had a horrible tattoo artist. No way that took 13 hours. you got the ripped off. Look at the shading in the stars. Let me guess, you were a walk in and did 0 planning with the artist.

That would easily be scars or stretch marks... isn't it bad enough he got a horrid tattoo, why try and convince everyone he's faking the fact that he's got a horrid tattoo...?

If you've ever gotten a tattoo, you will see that a lot of ink spreads on top of the skin; you can see the artist sometimes has to continually wipe away excess ink and blood with his glove or a napkin, and then the artist can get the ink onto clothing if they touch you while getting a better angle

Not to mention he's CLEARLY inside a tattoo parlor...

Any good tattoo artist will tell you to remove the article of clothing if it's that close.

Not only could it ruin the clothing, but it's a health hazard.

This. I had to remove my WHOLE Shirt when I got tatted on my arm. Even if it is real, $500 for that design was a waste of ink and money.

Maybe he didn't want to remove his shirt?
It's his choice to keep it on.

I must admit, 500$ for 12 hours... daymn thats cheap.
I payed 800$ for 6 hours for mine.

I suppose, but he could also have been working on the ocean down on this guy's forearm, therefore no where near the clothing, not necessitating its removal, and he could have put his hand on his shoulder to steady himself, or reposition, or get at it from another angle

Or maybe his arm wasn't entirely clean of ink before he put his shirt back on

I've seen countless people get tattoos, including my mom, dad, and sister. None of them have ever come out with ink on their shirt, to be fair that could have been there before, but it still doesn't explain the glinting reflection. The next explanation could be the jelly they use to to help keep the area moist, but that doesn't explain why there would be paint on the shirt in the last pictures but not in the first ones. They'll always wipe the area down of ink. Wait, why the hell are we arguing about this? I just say the tattoo sucks, but if he likes it then it's cool. Then mage pointed out that. So either way, the tattoo artist didn't do a very good job of tattooing by not cleaning all of the ink up before he allowed him to re-clothe, or it's paint. Why the hell do we care so much? haha

Wetwork style of tattooing is becoming more and more popular. its intended to look this way, people on here just havnt studied the newer tattoo methods it would seem.... I personally am not into the method. of course this tattoo might just look this way because it is so fresh in these pictures, but if it still looks like a watercoloring now that its not so fresh it would be a wetwork style tattoo. I'm not a huge fan of big detailed portraits either tho. I have plans for 90% of my body and a few tattoos on my face as well, but my sleeves and really all of my body wont be an art-piece portrait like this, it will just be a collage of different tattoos obtained over time. not details with backgrounds, just shit like skulls and spiders and tribal shit here and there until there isnt any room left. Most of my current tattoos dont look 1/100 as good as this one, but they were all homemade tattoos from when I was a teenager. Plan to get them fixed/covered soon.

I have "P U N X" on my right hand fingers which I did myself and turned out perferctly. Red stars on my left knuckles, a friend did these and they arent horrible, but I could have done them alot better. A "S" on the back of my right hand I plan to get covered up with the "tri-force" from the legend of zelda series, on the back of my left hand I have the mayan symbol for the number 13, I plan to get this covered up with a skull and cross bones. On the top of my left wrist I have my wife's name and on the side of my left wrist I have a razorblade. A scythe over a crowned number 13 on my left thumb and a symbol on my right thumb. on the bottom side of my left forearm I have a "cartoonish" skull with the number 13 on its forehead. "SKUNX" on the bottom of my left wrist. The top of my left forearm is covered with family names that I plan to get covered, all except my grandparents anyway. My left elbow has the start of a spiderweb but it never got finished, its currently just the center of the web with 1 line going away from it. A huge spiderweb covering my entire right shin with a spider hanging off to my right ankle. Japanese symbols for "Demon King" on my left calf, an anarchy symbol on my left knee. A skull with a mohawk with "R.I.P." above it and "Timmy George 1981 - 2010" under it as well as a swastika on my chest.

The only actual portrait I plan to get is a piece covering my entire back that the infamous Curtis Allgier (AKA Wood) drew for me in prison when we used to write each other. Here is his artwork.

Due to the flash of the camera the words are hard to make out. The 14 & 88 are pretty easy to read, but the far bottom left ribbon says "WOOD (swastika)'12" The ribbon just a little higher up and to the right of that says "UBERASSES" and the ribbon to the far right says "GRIMM"

    @Saint Grim
What kind of face tat do you have in mind?
I myself want this one piece done on my neck, but im not bold enough to do it. Majority of the people judge those who neck tattoos. Its the only reason thats keeping me from doing it.
