New PC Build/Upgrade

Yeah, my last build I did a shitty job w/ the management, but this time I decided I'd actually take the time and make it look good (or at least decent.)

 

Jesus, your previous machine would have lasted me 6 years! I recently upgraded my machine and it's still nowhere near your first one.

- AMD Phenom II x6 1040T 2.7GHz up from an Athlon II x4 2.8GHz
- 12GB RAM up from 4GB (1333MHz each time)
- 750W PSU up from a 550W
- Kept the same graphics card, Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5

 

Well mine lasted me about 2 years

Anyways, the parts are going to a good cause. Ive already sold both of the old video cards, and Giverny has shown interest in the RAM/CPU/MOBO thati still have.

I see, are you going to do heavy gaming like play bf3 and both Rs (if you play) I'm a bit jealous because I can't afford parts like those yet anyways have fun with your new PC

 

Just finished my overclocking last night as well

 

Imo you should of went with the 1155 socket and got the i7 3770k. Reason being is because the 3770k has hyperthreading and I dont think the one you got has, and overclocking the 3770k would be much easier.
