New Members and their TWC

So as I go through a lot of scam reports to find PayPal adresses to blacklist them, I thought of something.
Most people who post gold selling threads with a TWC end up being banned for scamming. Honestly I can't be bothered to check statistics, but it's probably the vast majority.

Why don't we limit newly registered TWC users to the market UNTIL they have posted on Home IP TWCs.
This way we force users to post from their home IP before attempting to make any trades. This should at least cut down the amount of scams significantly.

What do you think?

If you actually join with the intention of using the market, would you not go through said process to be able to utilise it?

On the other hand, if you simple join to use the market to scam, more often than not you're not going to want to reveal your home IP.

 

+1. The last thing I want Sythe to be is one of those markets where you need a referral in order to even get access to it.

 

Not a referral.. Just a request to post on your home IP. If there is no way to post from your home IP, you can dispute the TWC like many members have.

 

It seems like you are suggesting that we give DNT rather than TWC to users who haven't posted from a home ip. I feel like doing that to users who are in fact legit and not joining with the sole intention of scamming would scare them off considering how little they have invested into the site.

 

It still means there's a process before you can enter a FREE market. No support, sorry

 

I see what you're all saying, but honestly someone with the intention of joining the market won't be bothered by a process that might take them less than a couple hours to solve. People with the intention of joining to scam, though, will refrain from doing so because of this process.

Maybe I'm the only one who thinks like this?

 

People with the intention to scam will do so regardless, they will always find another avenue to do so and history has proved that hundreds of times.

 

No support for the same reasoning above regarding limiting a free market.

Beter suggestion

Change the twc to a dnt after 2-3 days, if they won't proof there home ip. plenty kf time for a thing that should take 5 secs lol.
