Why don't they just increase the max cash stack? Maybe update it to like 6B or something, idk.

To my knowledge, they use an integer variable for storing all numerical values. The maximum number for an integer variable is 2,147,483,647.

If they were to use an unsigned integer variable instead, they could make a new maximum of 4,294,967,295. However, given the length of time they've used an integer, they most likely don't wish to make an updates as a result of nostalgia. Alternatively, increasing the maximum may create a greater security risk for people who are able to procure duping methods.

I'm sure there are multiple reasons, but to answer your question, they could update it if they wanted to.

Yeah it doesn't look too bad, and a dollar bill? Haha I wish they brought in some kind of real currency for it, would be nice!

I agree with this. I think only items with high value will be affected.

Because 2,147,483,647 is the highest number that 32-bit Java can handle

Here's a short explanation: The integer values in Java are 32-bit Two's complement encoded
numbers and the highest possible value for this system is
2,147,483,647. The value 2,147,483,648 or 2n-1 where n is 32 is
negated under two's complement representation and becomes the
-2n-1s place. It is the most significant bit, meaning it has the
greatest value. In Two's compliment the most significant bit is
becomes the "sign bit" and indicates the sign of the number. If the
sign bit is 0 then largest number that can be stored in the remaing
31 bits is (2n-1-1) or 232-1-1 = 231-1 = 2,147,483,648 -1 =
2,147,483,647.

I think boss items may increase due to players not needing to hoard them for currency.

I would think it would have the opposite effect , more supply without an increase in demand = price drops.
