Name Snipers

Had 2 experiences like this lost a one letter name and a 2 letter name

 

Eg. Jake /facepalm.

 

A few weeks ago I saw my IRL name become unused, but reserved.
I mean, I had been following this name for years...

It was on the account of some RuneFest go-er who got it, later taken off for whoever knows.

So a few weeks ago I sent a new email about the new situation... Requesting the name.
Mod DjX replies to me few days later saying the name is "Unavailable". But they're working on a "More fair system".

My main is almost @ Max and I even used to be a FMod. So even players closer to Jagex don't get special treatment.
- Unless you follow their Twitter. Then it's inst-PMod status. LOL ("Oreo").

Don't get me wrong, my main's RSN is extremely rare and desirable. But having your IRL name will always feel more special, IMO.

But as for the whole name transfer thing, just enjoy it where it is.
Why risk what doesn't need to be risked? Chances are as every second passes, the more your name appears on everyone's lists.

It'd be a different story if your RSN doesn't define who you are. And nowadays everyone wants to be an elitist pretty much.. So...

The only way to get names now is through Jmod cocksucking. I have a rare name on my main that I wouldn't dream of selling because name sniping makes transferring impossible in this day and age.

 

If I were you, I'd wait a few weeks, or months. Then have two computers to transfer the name.

If the name is something like: PRAISE, and 'PRAlSE' is available, change the name to PRAlSE. Lot of people can't really notice the difference, unless looking at it for some time

 

I've had a couple of names sniped from me in the past. I emailed Jagex about my concerns and stated that the name was sniped by a bot, and legit players should have a fair chance at the name.

That was enough to get the name reverted, and I took it manually as no one was watching it, because it already was "taken".
