My story from when i was a kid to now. My happiest moments, and my saddest moments. Story starts when im about 12 to now when im 19.

2004 - 2007 The happy days

I was a little kid and i remember coming home everyday to a nice happy family after a long day of school and just hanging out with my brother and playing pokemon on the nintendo. My dad was a lawyer in New York and my mom was a stay-at home mom, i live in Pennsylvania so the dad would come home late everynight. I was about 12 years old and i picked up playing runescape. (i'm not going to go into it because this isn't a thread about it). I would play runescape constantly, i was addicted playing 5-6 hours a day after school.

I remember late in 2004 we went on a vacation to Puerto Rico and my dad was arguing with my mom about something. We went to the beach later that day and i built sandcastles and played in the ocean with my brother and sister. It was a good vacation.

2007-2008 The gloomy days

I got home from school one day with my brother and sister and my parents called us up to their room. We thought we were in trouble. My parents told us they were getting a divorce. Me and siblings didn't really know how to react so went on with our lives and my dad would come up to see us on the weekends once every 2 weeks. Life went on. I continued to hang out with friends and enjoy life.

2008-2009 Sadder Days

My dad only came up once a month now. My mom got a job, at low paying minimum wage job that treated her like shit. My mom was and still is a certified lawyer in New York but didn't want to move us because it would affect us to much, so she took a sacrifice. Life still went on. I went to school everyday and hung out with friends after school. I quit runescape and made more friends than ever.

2009-2010 The Decent Days

My dad and mom never hated each other, still kept in contact and were still good parents, i never resented my dad but my brother grew a little hatred towards him for leaving us. My sister and i still loved him because he was and still is a great dad. I started smoking and drinking with my friends, and became a sort of "rebel". I got a job at my local supermarket and started making money. I was now supporting myself and buying my own clothes/shoes everything that i needed because i hated taking money from my mom.

2011 The saddest days

I was at work one day and my friend came in crying, i asked her what was wrong and she quickly told me that one of our friends was in a car accident and was killed. I was sad and still am about it. I started smoking weed to lift my spirits a little, it helped. Then one day my sister came home and was bruised on her face, i asked her what happened, she told me her boyfriend hit her because she didn't want to have sex. I went to school the next day and beat the shit out of him. I felt a little better.

My dad and mom were now growing more close again and i thought they were going to get resolve their issues and start living together again. I felt a little better.

One day it was dads weekend so he was up and my mom was out at work, My nanny called us while we were eating dinner (my brother is now in college so he wasnt here) she was crying and told us to pick the phone up. My dad ran over to it and answered and then afterwards we asked what was wrong. My mom's dad (my grandpa) had just passed away while he was out with is son (my mom's brother, my uncle). My mom got depressed, still is.

Months go on, im feeling more down then ever and then I got a call from my uncle (moms brother). My uncle was getting a divorce with his wife. He was sad, they have 2 kids. I knew something was wrong because my uncle would call my mom occasionally and my mom would try to make him happy but i heard him crying over the phone.

Months later, My nanny calls us again. More sad news, we were eating dinner with my dad again. My uncle had just committed suicide. My dad went to my moms work and got her and she came home was crying. I was sad seeing her like that. My mom got more depressed.

My uncle commmited suicide 2 days ago. My mom is still crying and i hear her right now in her bedroom crying. My dad has stayed since then (he usually goes back to work in NY). I'm tearing up as im writing this and my hands are shaking. I think we will be going to Indiana in a few days to go to the funeral. I don't want to see my mom like what i imagine she is going to do. My nanny lives by herself there and i feel like we will be staying there for a few weeks. I dont know what will happen in the future, but life goes on.

That is a very sad story man :( I am sorry to hear about the things that have happened to you and that you are in pain right now.

Unfortunately, life is filled with all kinds of moments from both ends of the spectrum, both extremely happy and extremely sad, with everything in between. Part of growing up and maturing as a person is learning to cope with these sorts of events as they happened, and part of learning how to cope is learning to speak openly about your sorrows and share them with other people. In doing this, you learn to acknowledge, accept, and move forwards from the bad events in your life and in time, you become a stronger person.

Might I suggest to you that you get a Mod to move this thread into the Personal Support forum:

I am glad that you decided to seek some help/advice from your online peers and get this off your chest, but unfortunately this sort of thing might not be so well recieved in the Off-Topic section. Try getting the thread moved there and then you will likely recieve quite a few positive responses and be able to talk about this issue openly.

I wish you luck in getting through this, and feel free to PM me if you need to talk to somebody. Don't bottle these sorts of things up :)

Thank you Zerk, but i am in no way asking for help/seeking support. I just wanted to share with everyone and hope that if someone is going through sadness to not take the easy way out and commit suicide as it causes nothing but pain and sadness for everyone you leave behind. I just wanted to share my story so please, dont move this as this is just general discussion about life.

Fair enough :)

It is your thread, and you can put it wherever you want, I just wasn't sure if you knew about the Personal Support section or not. In my opinion, this is far more appropriate for that section and would probably recieve a better response if it was there, but thats not my choice to make!

Regardless, thankyou for sharing your story. I read every word and found it quite touching. Hopefully somebody who really needs it will read this and be touched by your message and think twice.

^^^ Seriously bro he already told you he wasn't trying to ask for support. Stop trying to mod.
Thanks for sharing your story bro, what was your intention sharing this with everybody?

I am not trying to mod in any way, and I am certainly not your "bro".

I regularly browse the Personal Support forum, AND created a thread awhile ago that gives people going through tough times in their real lives the opportunity to come and get things off their chest, and/or recieve feedback if they wish. Judging by the fact this guy decided to post his whole life story on Sythe, it is fairly safe to assume he needed somebody to talk to or was reaching out for advice and/or help.

I realize that this was NOT the case, and that I was wrong. But I thought I would be nice and point him in that direction if that was in fact what he was seeking. So your snide little comments are unnecessary.

Also - if you had actually read his response to my first post, you would see that he has already revealed what his intentions were for sharing his story:

I just wanted to share with everyone and hope that if someone is going through sadness to not take the easy way out and commit suicide as it causes nothing but pain and sadness for everyone you leave behind. I just wanted to share my story so please, dont move this as this is just general discussion about life.

Glad to hear you realize this. Stay strong.

Wow dude.. Thats a depressing story. I have a friend who has had similar experiences to yours, and I'm trying to help her overcome them. It's not easy, but you can do it. I wish you the best of luck, life gets better. Stay strong!

That's some horrid luck. I hope you've got a truckload of good on the way to counter it.

Wow. It's always difficult for me to read these things as I am very close to someone who has suffered through a lot since he was born. I respect your sharing.

Fuck off.

Hang in there bro. Appreciate what you have. If you need to talk, shoot me a PM.
