So recently my sister has been coming home and I've noticed she has been acting odd. As soon as she comes in she will quickly run to her room, lock the door, and not come out for hours. One day I manged to get into her room and I noticed her pampering excessive amounts of makeup over her eye. I have reason to believe that her boyfriend is hitting her, I don't know how to approach this. I don't know whether or not to bring it up with my parents and her, just her, or kick the living shit out of her boyfriend. Any advice is appreciated.

When it comes to family, I don't think before I act. If i feel my family is in any kind of danger, I act in heartbeat. Go beat the shit out of her boyfriend like you want to.

I'm not the violent type, but this has struck my last nerve. I'm contemplating whether or not to do it.

There's difference between being violent type and defending yourself or loved ones. Violent type means you fight without a justified reason. Defending yourself is justified in that you did what you had to protect your life, liberty, property, or loved ones.

I just do not support violence at all in any situation, I'm completely conflicted.

You're contradicting yourself there buddie. You already were considering using violence, but you were not sure 100% sure if you should do it or not. Now you're saying you're 100% sure that you will not use violence because you do not support violence in any situation? Make up your mind.

I know, I take back my original statement. I was angry when I was typing this. I don't support violence in any way at all.
I'm considering telling my parents and confronting my sister.

First confront your sister, see what she says. (Will most-likely lie.)
Confront the boyfriend, see what he says.
Then confront your parents, and if the problem persists the authorities. Assault isn't something to take lightly >.>

Avoid talking to your parents. Talk to your sister in a sensitive manner to try to get her to admit what her boyfriend is doing to her. Don't act like you care much or chances are she'll be scared that you will do something to her boyfriend. After she does admit what is happening, and if it is the expected (beatings), ask your sister if she wants you to take action. If she begs you not to, ignore her and do it anyway by any means necessary.

If you don't support violence in any way (including sending friends after this guy), you only really have 2 options:

1. Tell your parents and get them involved.
2. Contact the police directly (if your parents won't.)

Honestly, if I were you I would just beat the shit out of him, If you don't wanna do that talk to your parents, say you're worried about your sister and think her boyfriend's hitting her.

Now, I don't have siblings, but one night a girl came to my apartment who had been beaten. I have never met this girl or seen her before but me and my friends know it's not right to hit a girl. If anyone hit any of my friends they'd get what's comin to them times 2.

^this.

To solve this you need to confront the boyfriend. Just you and him. Things like this keep dragging on. He beats her, feels superior, she accepts it. She keeps going with it he keeps feeling superior and continues doing it. Then your face impacts his face and the deal may be over. Tricky situation but he needs to be dealt with.

I agree with this because I knew a girl that said she felt like dealing with it for a lil while a day and accepted it.

I had the same problem when I was younger, yet my sister was hanging around people she needed not to be. She was hanging around girls that well, we'll say.. were whores. She ended up almost getting raped by this Mexican guy that was 8 years older than her. I heard her and one of her friends talking about it and instantly told my dad. He asked her about it and she tried to denied it, with him not believing her he called the cops then she finally told me. The guy was prosecuted and sent to jail for 4 years. I was too young to handle the situation myself, wich in most cases is the proper thing to do, it gets the point proven and revenge from the other party is less likely. If you have a younger sister, or older sister with a boyfriend, ALWAYS pay attention. Remember, girls can get pregenant, boys can't. My little sister is now 11, and she just got her first period. Her childhood friend is a boy, he's 14 and just entered high school. Rest assured I keep my eye on him and have already had a talk with him. If you ever suspect someone hurting your family member it's best to go directly to the person that can help the situation the most, and the fastest. Always tell a trusted adult, or in some cases call the police yourself.

I hope I helped,
Precaution.

Talk to just your sister..she'll appreciate it. If you still suspect something, talk to the boyfriend. If he gives you lies or he admits to beating her (how stupid) personally i'd step up and beat the shit out of him. Or, if you want to do it the legal way get a tape recorder and record the confession perhaps?

The first thing to remember is don't react violently or unreasonably before you find out just what is taking place. Talk to your sister and allow her to confide in you. If you believe she is lying and still feel like there is something going on it is best to talk to your parents about this. When they confront her they will get the truth. If you do end up finding out that he is abusing her I don't think anyone would blame you for roughing him up a bit, although i would not recommend it. Overall you should definitely take action though, whether it is talking to her, your parents or him, something needs to be done. This kind of behavior is simply unacceptable, I would also report it to the authorities after the truth is out if i were you.
