My mouse (cursor) keeps freaking out
every once in a while it will fly around the screen clicking, right clicking, and dragging itself around the screen. virus scan found nothing, along with spyware and adware. I used spyware doctor and AVG. It isn't my mouse thats dirty cause I unplug it and it still freaks out.

I have even reinstalled my OS and it still happened a couple days after I reinstalled it.

EDIT:

This is not a Mouse or a virus/*ware/trojan problem. It still does it after I unplug my mouse, and I have scanned my computer using a variety of free and professional program. My mouse driver is iType. it just comes through Windows Update.

Wireless mouse?

Also, never listen to anything wtp says, he doesn't know what he's talking about.

I had the same problem, I used Mcfee Virus scanner it located 6 Threats, and deleted them afterwards it was gone :)

Try downloading a trial somewhere.

That really crosses the line. How long have you been posting in tech support about a month maybe? And I haven't even seen you help anyone. The only people that have proven themselves to be useful in this form is cp_ osmosis and me.

When you reinstalled your OS did you do a clean install?

Is it a USB, PS/2 or Wireless mouse (cbf looking it up)?

Check the connection and rescan using a thorough scan using Avast!

Try booting in safemode and see if that works.

When all else fails;

You know what, your idiocy crosses the line, Darbysniper is better then you, he is of far more intelligence and knowledge, you are an A+ Certified Moron and nothing more, the proof shown through your not reading of the first post and still attempting to fix the problem.

The logical explanation is a virus, but as you said you've reinstalled the OS, I doubt that's the problem, if it is a wireless mouse check to see if there are any other objects around that could possibly interfere with it and cause it to act erratically.

Hey, im just gonna throw in what happened when i was using a wireless (laser) mouse. Dont use any surface that could reflect the laser (laminated wood counter top, glass etc.) Use a mouse pad and that could stop the moving around the screen.

Kind of like what TDD said but just going into specifics.

This might be pretty obvious, but have you tried using a different mouse? see if it freaks out. You can also try attaching the mouse to a different PC and see if the same happens.

Learn to read. as stated by him the mouse is unplugged, so it would not matter what kind of mouse it is because there is nothing connected to the computer.

It's more then likely a virus, cheap virus scanners for the loose.
Click here for 30-day free trial of McAfee anti-virus(its a trial.)

Reinstalling the OS might not remove everything depending on which options you choose. (format)

When I said objects that might interfere, i meant wireless devices like a phone or anything that could be screwing with the wireless mouse.

First time I've actually realized that might interfere.

well, you see, it seems that when it happens its totally random. I tried to see if there was any pattern at times it was happening, but alas, no.

When I reinstalled my OS, I reinstalled it from scratch. The only thing I didn't do was format my D:\ drive, since it has every ounce of work I have ever done.

It's a USB 2.0 mouse, but that doesn't matter because...

IF THE MOUSE IS UNPLUGGED, IT STILL FREAKS OUT

k, it is unlikely that a virrus is on my D:\, as I am very careful on what I install there, still a virrus could have storred something there, I would like to do scans but fuck trial software, and I don't feel like cracking something for 30min. Something always goes wrong with cracked software if it has any security behind it (IE, Spyware doctor)

I have changed my mouse also since the first time it freaked but that doesn't matter because

IF THE MOUSE IS UNPLUGGED, IT STILL FREAKS OUT
