Just so you all get an idea: Community repayment is a thing because in alot of situations the scam victims of people who wish to pardon have already been banned. In those cases we usually take the repayment money ourselves as moderators, which will then be repaid once we roll the dice between the users who have submitted their scam reports on that one thread.

I have already made a thread in the staff section so that we all can write down how much money we're holding because of this, along with who it's from, but I still believe we need to have a closer eye on this, because I could just edit my post to "paid", step down as a moderator and never owe anything to anyone. And I'm holding about $500 currently.

My idea is to either have one person on the staff team hold all of the money and possibly have a new page (not thread) that keeps track of this. Possibly a gold-site order-look-a-like page would be great for this.

    Thoughts or any suggestions?

I like the idea of everybody being able to see what's going on. I personally don't think one person alone should hold all the money at once due to its easy to just never return one day and they could be holding a significant amount unless the owner of Sythe himself is holding it. Having a sub forum section added would be ideal maybe added within the report section called something like ''Outstanding balance'' Were you can see the person who is owed the money. Although i'm a little tired my words might not be coming out how i'm seeing you're suggestion. I myself agree with this and think its a great attachment. Although after reading the situation between video and the other guy who i completely felt sorry for being made to wait as long as he did in which there should not be a ''period time'' to claim back the money and should be held in safe keeping. Even if they return from being scammed after a year or two. If there money was repayed by the scammer i think they should be able to collect it instantly even if they return 2-5 years later

The only reason I can think this thread would ever need to even be suggested is that you suspect staff aren't mature enough or are scamming the money their holding as community repayment.

Both of those are not exactly votes of confidence in our staff team, you didn't directly say the above but you basically said it anyway just in a different way.

    So my question is:

What prompted this and what staff do you suspect has such low morals that their scamming community repayment money?

Because clearly something prompted this suggestion to add a accounting system to staff, if you didn't have concerns about the above then there would be no need for it.

You should probably speak to Shin about whatever ur concerned about.

Neutral until I find out what prompted this need for a "Accounting" system on staff.

Wait why aren’t the rolls done as soon as you get the money? I don’t understand. You shouldn’t be holding the money more than a week or so

Dare I say I agree with Bus?

Don't we have a bigger problem if we can't trust the staff team? All kinds of worse things could arise if that were true.

So if we approved something like this, then we're saying that staff aren't trustworthy enough to carry out this duty, which I don't think is a good perspective and I don't think is true.

My guess is staff are meant to try contact the person who the money meant to go to originally,

But I support idea as soon as mone received it being diced , also support making the thread public, as that what I believe wortel is suggesting

If not support whatever wortel suggesting as I believe more transparency always a good thing

That’s not their job. For actual refunds, the person repaying contacts their victim and shows proof of refund or waiting and the person not reply. Staff shouldn’t have their hands tied up in money in that situation. It’s the situation after, where staff collect the money, roll right away to see who wins the money on repayment and then contacts them to distribute. That shouldn’t result in them holding it that long

Why even suggest this? Just do it, it should be monitored already.

I didn't want to bother, but out of around $1.5k I got paid around $0.5k and I'm no longer on the list.

I'm happy that I got at least a 1/3 back, but I must still wonder how does it work.

EDIT: if that wasn't clear enough, I support this idea.

As far as I know mostly video handles repayments now so money should be sent to him when you receive anything from pardons/whatever. If this isn't being done in a timely fashion, contact either Shin or myself.

If there's another issue at hand (not sure if bus is right in you implying anything or not), please let me know.

If for some reason mods are paying out to members directly owed instead of via the repayment thread, just include proof on the SL page we currently have instead of just putting "paid."

I'll handle this when I'm home.

If I recieve 10m and go to the community repayment thread and roll and it lands on somebody who is owed 200m it becomes more work to edit/ keep track of.

The way it runs currently is for convience sake. We keep ahold of it for a certain timeframe (lets say 3 weeks) then after we have 500m we go to roll. We repay 5 users for their amounts during that time.

Basically repaying more less often vs less more often

I believe I paid out to you in the past so if the full amount was not paid, you should not have been removed from the list (it would have just been a partial repayment). Feel free to PM me on Discord.

Pm me @Wortel to discuss this, I have no issue implementing this.

@BlackBlasses was removed from the list because we put a $300 limit to repayment. He is one of the lucky few who was repaid prior to this cap being set

I know that you like to think the worse in me and all other human beings, but I am not referring to anything that has happened in the staff team or is about to happen, I was simply suggesting this to prevent it from ever happening.
I've been holding mine for about half a year now. I'm not accusing anyone of anything and sure it shouldn't even be allowed to question a moderator's loyalty, though I'm just laying down a loophole that could be abused.
I was asking for suggestions here, not specifically proposing suggestions.
