They have a rank and they wouldn't even think about (at least I hope so) scamming and losing it all when they could make so much more being legit. People go first to them because they're seen as role models and leaders on the site and the administration has trusted them by making them a moderator.

I get why people go first to them, I don't get why people trust them over more trusted people is what I'm saying.

That, I do not understand either. The thing now when it comes to trading is: Mod > Regular user.

majority of them are scammers, half the time they know a mod isn't going to post to buy the guys 30mil for $0.80/ mil so they are basically guaranteeing the other person has to go first, and if you use the more trusted line they simply say "L2 Read I said Mod+" I've had 4 newcomers say this to me in the last 2 days.

Correct. This back's up what's been happening over the last few month's. A mod say's his msn has been hacked and get's away with a huge scam leaving a member out of pocket. You cannot just " Hack " a msn. The only way to " hack " a msn is via social engineering. This is also hard as you have to have almost every detail about the owner of the MSN. Including full name, address, age, security question's etc.
I was going to make a topic about this, but then i had a bad feeling there might be a power abusing mod about. No disrespect to the staff.

This forum seems to be pretty good for it, but a few other forums I know of; mods usually do 1 big scam and leave the community and i wouldn't doubt if that's happened here as well as "msn's being hacked" I bet a lot of that is BS. Also some of the mods here are just kids =/ like 14.. ( no offence) which doesn't put me at ease.

I didn't make this thread about MSN hackings at all, but yeah I see what your talking about. I don't believe MSN's can be hacked that easily, but it seems like the system's got some kind of flaw.

Edit: Also, it's got nothing to do with mods scamming. It has to do with people only going first with mods and up, even though other members are much more trusted. It's more about the rank being misleading in my opinion. It doesn't show ultimate trust, it shows a member of the staff. Doesn't mean they aren't trusted, just means that they aren't more trusted than everybody else.

They have been hand picked by administration because they attain various qualities required to be leaders of this forum.

Don't you have to give your home address to become a mod? Or am I thinking of something else entirely.

Either way, it's the same as anything else when you are trading. You should be trading with someone based on the quality of their vouches.

You do realize that if a Staff members MSN is hacked and money is scammed they are Banned, and are not unbanned until all the money has been paid back to the victim(s)? Staff are treated exactly the same as members in these situations - regardless of their standing on Sythe.

And in regards to the whole trust issue - Staff members are hand-picked by the Upper Staff and Administration team.
The staff are chosen with numerous points in mind, one of them being trustworthiness, and we would only ever elect those that we thought had the utmost value of this. Also, Staff members are required to give the Administration their personal details - they ARE easily the most trusted members on this site.

Love to hear how he's more trusted than I am. Considering he's easily one of the most trusted people on the site.

No offense to you lordhooters. Just an explanation.

Mod doesn't = more trusted.

Being hand picked does not make no difference. Greed take's over. Mods = No more trusted.

If they thought you were trusted and would be an asset to the site then the Staff team would have picked you instead of LordHooters. But they didn't, and I would trust LH over you. Don't be so arrogant...

Your a complete fool.. Staff's not picked completely off trust... I'm not being arrogant. I'm sure they don't pick staff just because of trust or viou, video, etc would be mods. It's not like OMM's are all mods either. Which they show trust as well. Trust has to do with trading experience and amount you've dealt with. It doesn't have to do with having somebody pick you to monitor over the site. Explain to me how that works. Really love to hear it. Most of the actual trusted users, don't even ponder in the off topic section.
