would it be worth it for me, like taking 5% for a trade or something. Also should i go for OMM rank? Any tips for a beginner middleman?

 

Yes it would be worth it, just don't do long trades like accounts and it'll be worth your time. No, you shouldn't charge a fee until you become an OMM, there are plenty of other MM's that are just as good and don't charge anything because they're trying to complete their applications. Mention donations maybe on your thread, but I'd leave it at that.

Tips? Make sure you record as you go, and format your OMM application properly so it doesn't get denied.

I used to MM but its just too much drama and people get mad when you say no lol, and most of the time they get a chargeback or something then blame you and make it seem like its your problem to fix. Too much hassle imo

Basically you're just facilitating trades, making sure that it goes well. You understand the basic concept of being a MM I assume?

There are detailed stickies regarding the OMM application process in the MM section, take a look. Also go through accepted OMM applications and see how they formatted theirs, and try to clone it as best you can.

Some trusted people MM for free, so charging a 5% fee while others are doing the same thing for free won't really work. You should go for OMM then people might be more willing to pay a fee.

On high value accounts you might need to work out something slightly different to keep the account from being locked from the quick IP change (such as PMOD accounts).

 

Not worth the time and hassle.

 

I would estimate three quarters of the trades I get asked to do are account trades. If you don't do them, you will get much less business. They average about 30 minutes each, though, and they're kind of a pain, especially when people have incomplete information, etc.

Also, I'd encourage you to go for OMM. There hasn't been a new one in six months, and Roary doesn't even display his rank; too busy being legendary I guess . I'll admit that it's quite a lot of work, and you have to put up with a lot of crap: people not vouching hour-long trades, people accusing you of scamming/recovering, people nagging you to MM their $6 trades (I wish I were kidding), people taking fifteen minutes to meet you at a location... the list goes on. Good luck if you decide to do it, though. Most people make a thread and never update it .

Feel free to contact me if you need any help for specific trades. Generally, the process is:
-find out what the trade is and accept/deny it ($6 trades ftw)
-have both people post on your thread
-send them proper confirmation pms
-hold one (or both) party's tangible items as collateral
----transfer things if they're tangible (rs gold, items, codes)
----have the parties transfer things if they're intangible (paypal, btc, skrill)
-transfer the other tangible item
-make sure everything is set
-vouches and celebrations

Account sales are the most complex trades you'll do, so maybe avoid doing them for a while? Up to you. DD gave a pretty accurate summary above. I would, however, add that high-value accounts aren't really an issue. I've MMed a few comp cape accounts without problem. I wouldn't even take a pmod account mm unless I was confident the buyer was NOT going to get screwed over immediately. On that note, you should always google "skypeNameOfPeopleYou'reTradingWith sythe scammer" or resolve their IPs if you think they're being fishy. Try to prevent scams before they happen.

 

That's one of the many reasons I just can't put any efford anymore into middlemaning on any forum.
As divica said, they will blame you, there's no profit (Unless you're OMM) and some trades can turn be a hell,
no offence but i'm sure alot of people would agree.

Basicly to me, middleman is just a quick option to gain vouches.

Theres too much problems that occur when middlemanning and takes WAY too much time... If you are a busy man, dont do it.

 

Hit me up on Skype if you have any questions. I would suggest being free until you attain OMM to be honest, to get it out the way. I would also avoid account trades where possible.

Just copy the format of an already-accepted OMM application and alter it to your aesthetic taste, then go through the format like a checklist until you get in to the swing of things. I recommend putting all images on imgur or the likes rather than puu.sh because puu.sh's expire eventually to my knowledge.

 

ah OMM is impossible. Who would use me as middleman for $550+ lol It took quite a while for you aswell(while being a staff member)
