THE ONLY thing about Illegals that piss me off is-Someone using food stamps while driving a newish Escalade on 24s. I worked at a grocery store, I saw that everyday.

There are tons illegal immigrants that receive numbers similar to SS numbers that allow them to file taxes. And blaming the debt of California on illegal immigrants is absurd, take a look at the Tab the government places on national defense.

 

That would certainly help. Knowing that if you're caught here illegally you'll be shot rather than just shipped back to Mexico might give some runners a bit of a deterrent.

A bit rude. Many white Americans average a far higher level of income than Mexicans or any other minority for that matter. Upon being laid off, their welfare checks become a substantial portion of their previous income. Having said that, if one is used to living on 50k a year let's say they get 35k through the whole year. If they take that Starbucks job that pays 17k a year, they lose their welfare checks because they're above poverty line (~14,500). Their income gets even smaller if they take the job.

Of course the system is abused, but still.

The problems I have with your argument are as follows:

1) Migrating the right way costs ~2500 dollars. AKA 1-2 full years worth of work (often not including living expenses)

2) We simply don't spend that much money on illegal immigration. With the punishment, deportation, being what it is, the issue is hopeless.

3) Most illegals are not on social security or welfare. Being illegal, the only way that's even possible is to steal an identity of either a living or dead person. Many of them even pay taxes, and the government is cool with that. But the minute they begin asking for money (SS/WLF), the goverment will occasionally take the time to look into it.

4) Rarely do you hear of illegals attacking officers. Even if that were the case, look how many whites and blacks attack officers.

I'd hardly say the debt matters. That, and it's over 13 trillion... But, China can't collect it from us because it would bankrupt us. With us being the world's largest consumers, by far, it would tank the global economy. Our dollar paid for China to become the economic powerhouse it is, but it can't maintain that status without our dollars either. Who else would want to buy their lead filled toys?

If you want the country to stay out of debt then tell the government that because they're the people who spend crap loads of money just to put illegal foreigners/pot smokers into prison.

Also I've never heard of reports on illegal foreigners attacking a border patrol officer, it's most likely the opposite.

If you want a better solution then shouldn't the government raise the price on visas/citizenship to a higher price and also allow the waiting list to get cut down? That's why a lot of illegal foreigners come to America ILLEGALLY, because the process of becoming a citizen takes REALLY long.

 

Here's your debate, what makes you so worthy of recieving welfare care from the united states and makes mexican people unable to go to your country and live beneath the same laws and punishments as you. Being born in the united states? CONGRATULATIONS according to you , that is your biggest accomplishment ever.

To those complaining about illegal immigration potentially being a bad thing, let me ask you guys something.
Are you saying it's not right because they're ruining the economy? If so, you're wrong, read the posts.

Are you saying it's not right because it's illegal, and laws should not be broken? If so, do you not download music from the internet and other things instead of buying it from the store? And don't tell me it's different because you're breaking the law, it's not about how big the crime is, it's the principle of it.

 

I, and almost every other citizen, break laws every day. So are you saying that it is hypocritical to support the upholding of the law? Since I was speeding on my way to the store this morning, and I knew what I was doing was against the law, we should let illegal immigration slide?

To all the supporters of the prospect of illegal immigrants within this thread, does it not phase you at all that these people are still here, regardless of reason, illegally?

While I cannot look down and judge one to be better than another, they are in a while still under the class of 'illegal' immigrants, and still essentially breaking United States law. Shouldn't that count for a large part why we shouldn't support them?

I mean, if the U.S. suddenly opened all borders, I frankly wouldn't care who came in and out. Until then however, I don't understand how we could condone this.

 

These people live in terrible poverty and are looking for a better life (which is what america is founded on), all the people saying they should legally immigrate should probably review the stats, if you are LUCKY legal immigration into america takes 12 years, but it can be as long as 24 years..
Looking for a better life for your children isnt that amazing if they are in their 30's when you get there.

If anything, they should be more lenient towards Mexicans. I'm not sure if you've watched this video, but I'd much rather have Mexicans than Muslims (Not being racist, just a preference).

Fortunately, Canadians don't have to worry as much as Americans in regards to the illegal immigration issue.
