I think they are alright, I have maybe 10 of their songs, no albums, and I'm not a huge fan, but I enjoy some of their hits.

umm... your comparing a 20 year+ (that is still going mind you) to some like 5 year old band that couldn't match a quarter of the talent of anyone in the band? you obviously are music illiterate, anyways although they have had a few bad albums they have had a few good one's aswell, johan when it comes to metallica your on crack if you think that was there only good album, they are not my favorite band although since i first heard them when i was like 4-5 they were my favorite up til i was like 12, and have been favorites to millions of people and you cannot deny that.
as for them no longer playing for the music and now for the profits, you are completely ignorant, people don't make bands to play for fun, they play it for a living and to learn something. when you start putting your band out there you want to go to the top not be a no-namer your whole life, if you really care so much about if a band is mainstream or not then you should prolly eat shit and die because you should not have the right to judge any music (although most bands that do make it mainstream are shitty with some exceptions) you are simply pitiful if you go by what people think instead of what you like. end of story.

some are ok, and some make my ass dance, while other suck
I disagree to some extent, they went from a thrash/classic 80's metal band to an almost hard rock sound for load and reload which both still had some killer tunes on it. The reason they suck now is the same reason that every other 80's band that is still trying to put out records with "new edgy feel" like St Anger, it simply just doesn't work. I say the same for bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Suicidal Tendencies and Cannibal Corpse... the new shit sucks.

lol? thier songs are too long and repetitive....none of their songs are repetitive other than the St. Anger album which was extremely poorly produced. Metallica are greats. You may think other bands are better but thats your opinion, and yours only.
