ManaCrank Top Lane

Does anyone else have unorthodox playstyles/champion picks at top lane? Personally, I believe blitzcrank top is a very high risk/reward champion to play there. His kit is so underrated; he has high burst potential, built in tankiness (mana barrier), mobility, attack speed, a silence and a game changing skill - his rocket grab. His E also does double his attack damage so you have a high chance of getting first blood. With 400+ AD, it makes it possible for him to destroy turrets without a minion wave in as little as 5~ seconds.

But yeah, it doesn't always work out for me every game and it may seem like a troll pick. He's still definitely one of my favorite champions to play though

Virtually every other top laner would just stand in the minion wave 24/7, then push hard at level 4 and counter-jungle and/or gank other lanes. True, I've tried it a couple times vs diamond players and even though I got first blood, I always end up losing the lane and then I can't fight them anymore haha

ive actually played with an ad blitz top. he rekt the darius? i think, not sure who it was as it was a while ago but yeah. i've always wanted to try it lol, seems like fun.

In normals, anything goes really.

E: I have however seen him played before in ranked as a mid/top laner. Rare though.

Are you supposed to build tanky AD or tanky AP on her?

Yeah blitz top is fun but as far as the laning phase goes he's pretty weak at trading, but you can pull the other laner into your tower knock him up and exhaust works well. I like to play nunu top a lot and poppy top are both pretty good rarely used champions.

I've seen tanky AP leona be a bit more successful, but she doesn't really have that much ap mostly tankyness.

Top lane Leona builds Sunfire/Frozen Fist mostly, then full-tank CDR based items.

You definitely are not the only one.

But as SellerMan stated, normals don't mean much.

I've tried that before too but like someone on top said, when they start scaling, they will poop you in lane (talking about renek, shyv, etc)
I usually play alot of unorthodox builds (like zilean/sona AP MID)

Try taric tanky ap top, with gauntlet/frozen heart/abyssal

I go for sheen and lichbane after, keep poking and auto till low and i can go for a burst kill, if opponent too tanky i just play farm game and i roam
