Make being a member of CDT/PR a pre-requisite for applying to be a moderator

I like the idea in theory, and as staff members have said, it may help someone get moderator if they are/were on one of those teams. However, this would force members to apply and join those teams for the wrong reasons. We want members who actually want to make a difference on those teams. Plus, there are not many qualified candidates for staff as it is, so it is no support from me.

I understand the PR team is no longer, but heres it coming back in the future.

No support, I get what you were going for but I don’t like the idea of being a CDT member “empowering”. Not to say like the current members or any previous members have. But with this suggestion I feel like it would.

I don't think this is a good idea, the transferable skills don't always show when working with team dynamics and there are some great moderators who didn't come from CDT/PR.

I have been a member or leader for all 3 of the positions you talk about and each of the roles was different enough not to warrant such a requirement.

I see where you're coming from in the sense that you believe people who are apart of these teams are showing more initiative and willingness to be a part of something bigger on the platform which typically is true, but at the same time I can't say that forcing this on future applicants would do any good because not everyone wants to be a part of these teams in order to become staff so it'd make everything seem more artificial rather than people genuinely trying to do some positive for the community in their free time (pretty much summing up what Yoshi/Sypherz said). Personally I feel like myself and others who weren't CDT that got staff didn't have much interest in that and earned it through other ways that we preferred (actively posting in help sections on the forums, making post reports, assisting others in Discord/Sythe with whatever situation they need help or advice in, actively engaging in healthy discussion in random sections of the forums or Discord (sports, music, media, etc.), and so forth (which I understand can be done while in CDT but still). Plus some of the best staff members of my time imo were parts of both sides of the spectrum (with CDT having people like Charlotte/Gen/Pendulum/Techie, etc. and non CDT with people like Champ/Yoshiki/Video/Gladiator, etc.). That's just a few on each side off the top of my head, but of-course there are many others I missed that have done great in their respective staff roles with and without using CDT as a stepping stone to get to that position.

In short I can't support this suggestion for the reasons mentioned above, but I totally respect and understand where you're coming from like I said initially.
