Mac or Windows?

From another thread I posted on:

1. Simply put - Mac is extremely easy to navigate. Installing an application takes very little thought process - just drag and drop (most of the time). Also, there is a lack of viruses designed for the Mac OS, where as there are a ton for Windows.

2. Versatility - Apple now has the option of switching between Mac and Windows (via BootCamp)... This means you can have the simplicity of the Mac (on one side), and still be able to run your Windows programs.

3. Customer Support - I know that everyone I have talked to that owns an Apple product, when they have a problem they can just bring it to the store and have it "diagnosed" immediately. Even when they can't to the store, the customer support is more than willing to help... and actually look for a problem with the computer - if it's under warranty they immediately replace it, next to no questions asked. However... if not under warranty you get BOMBED for whatever they need to replace (a new battery = $100+).

4. The NAME! There is a small bit of psychology that plays into it. Most people think

Apple you pay for the name and the customer support. There is no "true" competition that matches up to them - since Windows has SO many different names (HP, Compaq, Dell, Toshiba, etc.), so many different applications, and products for it... And only one set of computers can run the Mac OS - apple's computers.

The Windows side as most people have pointed out is that they are a LOT less expensive for the same performance (due to all of the competition and customization), as well as the fact that most games are Windows compatible (not Mac).

Not to mention that a custom desktop is infinitely more upgradable than a Mac... You can't just toss a new processor or graphics card in the Mac...

As a few others have said... A mac can be used to run bots. Bots run off of javascript, a (supposedly) universal language across all operating systems.

However... If you want to have those astonishing graphics on any new games (BF3 and MW3)... You best buy Windows.

PS. I have used both Windows & Mac... Went from Windows -> Mac and then back to Windows.

You pay for the name, and NOTHING more.
Mac is really not MAC OS, it is BSD. Which, is free.
You're better off buying the same parts you'd get from Apple, assembling, and buying a case you yourself can mod, and put Open/FreeBSD on it.
You'll learn so much about the computer that way.
Also, if your family really wants a mac, buy a bigger HDD and put a Hackintosh on a partition.

Just get a mac, on a mac you can run any operating system you want but A PC can only run Windows and Linux, and I have many macs if you want them to be upgraded bring it to the apple store with the part and they do it for free, and bots also run better and faster on macs because Mac OS X handles its ram differently than windows

and another thing, I have an apple ibook clamshell from 1999 and until the recent java upgrade Jagex did I could STILL play runescape on it with slight lag, macs last a long time

Yeah I agree with some of you. If you are going to use your computer for gaming I would go for a PC.

Mac's are more userfriendly, long battery lasting, great design etc. You don't need that for gaming :)

Actually theres a program called crossover games and you can play pretty much any windows game on a mac, I downloaded guild wars and there are many other options

If you can easily afford an iMac, then I believe it might be wise to get. After all, you can always install Windows on it.

I know, but you pay a shitload for the Mac design. I personally love mac, but if you're going for a good gaming/botting pc, Mac is just not the right one for you.

I have used a mac before.

For the price, it ain't worth it. The design is nice, but apart from that, nothing else really gives it the edge.

The battery life may be large, but I am sure you can replace batteries in other laptops (or even netbooks) to get longer life.

The specs are average. For a very good laptop at the same price, you could probably double the specs it has.

The OS... don't get me started :P

PCs for gaming, Mac for graphics.

Mac is so much better yo

I personally prefer Windows, But Macs are excellent too.. You're just paying a lot more for them. Only time I'd buy a Mac is if I got into DJ'ing.

We are looking for family's computer. My dad have windows himself, he wouldn't let us to use his computer because it's only for working. My dad say what about iMac? Suit for family, I was not sure if I can bots well or not. I was need to know if it's good or not. My dad need iMac just because photos, making an animations and etc. We've got a Adobe Master Collection CS5.5, my dad will be need it and me too for my IT assessment. I need find a good computer such as iMac.

We might buy a iMac, then I'll set up the business for myself. (: can't wait. Haha.

The only apple products I own or would ever own are the Ipod and the Ipad. Other than that, it's PC all the way.

PC, Mac is too overpriced and I honestly am much more comfortable with Windows products.

You can't beat the performance/cost ratio of a Windows PC.

Also, pic related.
