low post count link block

Add me please, although I think Sythe would be aware of the problem.

 

Support, though nothing more than 25/50 posts.

 

Here's my logic..

If your stupid enough to download anything from a leecher than you deserve the virus. My thought is that if your stupid enough to download this viruses mad by kids than you probably already have one or will get one in time and quite honestly use common sense and you should be fine.If now one trusted has said the links clean then don't click it period!

 

its the overall point that people are doing it and imo it there should be somthing to help cut down on it

What about those who come here for a quick trade?
Are they unable to post an image links and have to accumulate 150 posts?
Im guessing there is a reason that this has not yet been implemented.

And ontop of this when these users do reach a post count of 150+ and post
a phisher/hack ect. it will look even more 'legit' than before.

 

All those RSGP buyers / sellers / scammers will just spam random boards :/

 

This isn't realistic (I think), won't this ruin people posting pictures in the market section (you need a link to post a picture)? Therefore, making it users can't post in the market section until you have 50 post or whatever it is?

 

There's a way to restrict the use of certain bbcodes by member groups inside of vBulletin. If we removed the ability from 'newcomers' and such to use the url bbcode, and only parsed their links with a direct link copy... then that would cut down tremendously.

I also like the idea of <25ish posts not being able to link externally. If they want to post Sythe links, that'd be neat, but a code to stop links to external sites in their signature would be nice. I don't usually like restrictions, but some of these advertisements are ridiculous

 

I support this 100%.. something needs to be done about it they are getting out of control.

150 seems like a bit much. you have to remember you are going to lose a few legit links that people want to post but can't. I say make the limit like 50 posts. OR make the link invisible until it has been verified.

 

It will suck for them for the first 25 posts but it a very lax restriction. It would take someone less than a week to the 25 posts even if they are barely active. No one will need to link within Sythe even within that amount of time.

I disagree with this, its not only the person downloading the virus being affected, but what if they share their computer with their parents, siblings? Their download of a keylogger could hand over their parents credit card details to the spammers.

I 100 percent freaking support this. Mods know I report the hell out of those people. but we can only do so much, this will accomplish alot.
