The image below is the first logo I've ever sold to a client, a gold seller (I cropped the name for privacy purposes). I really like to make experiments with logos, but always end giving up before getting a good result. But since this one was for something one level above "experiment", I put a lot of dedication on making it.
The main idea for this is to be the letter "R" made in a modern shape and that, of course, resembles to gold (the client asked me to make something around the bases of my current logo). I tried to give some depht to it by, uhn "strategically" (no better word came to my mind, haha) blurring some areas and sharpening others.
I also tried to make it as simple as possible, but keeping a "realistic" look, so that it fits in any background color. This mean no overlayed light effects nor anything of the sort. I also made it keeping in mind that this is for a virtual items shop, not for an actual (IRL) store or something.
I modelled the entire logo in C4D, made customised materials, added omnilights (everywhere as always XD) and rendered. Then I made some color corrections in Gimp by messing around with color balance and curves, overlayed diagonal stripes to add some texture, and voilà.
So, this is the final result. I usually don't make CnC threads, but since this one was the first logo I ever sold, I decided to post here to hear the oppinion of people with more experience than me. =) So, yeah, that's it. Please be harsh with me, I really appreciate when someone points out my weak points in straight.
Oh, and sorry (in advance lol) if I forget about this thread. Sometimes I simply forget that we have graphics forums other than the marketplace. =P
Note to self: I don't do vectors.
