[Legit] Cataclysm Alpha Client Download

Hello everyone! I recently came across the download of the Cataclysm alpha client (as have many) and found a cool little tool that lets you log-in and look around. The tool is a sandbox though, so please remember that there are NO items and NO NPCs, the server you're creating is essentially just for exploration.

How to set it up:
-Run the installer for the client (client can be downloaded here). The client is a regular Blizzard downloader, so it is completely safe, screenshot below (note that this will not get you banned on retail either!).
-Once Cataclysm is installed, run sandbox.exe (allow the sandbox window to run in the background) and then run Cataclysm; the sandbox can be downloaded here.
-Change your realmlist (example: C:\World of Warcraft Beta\Data\enUS\realmlist.wtf) in Notepad and change the entire thing to the following:

-Log-in with any username (note that the username and password must be the same though).
-You don't need a WoW account to do this and you will not get banned either
-For a list of in-game commands, type ".h" (without quotations of course)

Be careful, it's case sensitive!



Tgump has got some in-game screenies in the next post of the same client and sandbox as the ones I've provided here.
If you want to play as a goblin or worgen and have all the proper spells, items, etc, you'll have to set up and compile your own private server binaries and possibly have to create your own C++ core patch. This is extremely cumbersome and difficult, but go for it if you like. I personally know how to do this but will keep the information to myself until I open my own public server (soon-ish). Have fun!

Tanaris got wrecked, everything past Gadget got flooded.



Some zones are already looking finished and ready to go for Cataclysm (like Tirisfal,) some are untouched (like Elwynn)

New open Undercity. The main city is mostly unchanged (so far), but the courtyard has been expanded. Undercity now correctly looks like the ruins of the Alliance's former capital city.

 

Lookin good, if you can could you upload the sandbox binaries and edit my post? I have yet to try the one I downloaded myself.

 

I'd be trying this if my game time hadn't run out... Oh well, I installed it anyways. Will post feedback if/when I get more game time.

You don't need an active retail account. Just the Cataclysm installer and the sandbox.

Well,apparently some russians leaked the client and then someone posted on MMO-Champ and then like over 1000+ downloaded it and...the link got removed and now it's alllll over the internet

^Apparently a huge crab/snail/snail crab (I honestly have no idea) in Vashj'ir ALSO his/her shell has some huge circles on that will apparently turn extremely white then turn back to pitch black.

 

Thanks for the link. Quick question I am getting a error messege. It says Their was a problem loging in with this account. You may not have a World of Warcraft game attached to your account, or you may be logging into a region different from the one you created the account in. If you continue having trouble, please contact Customer support. So what do I do? Thanks so much!

Tight thxs, downloading it atm....do we get to play it like its wow....quest n pvp, or is it just to check out the new areas

 

I try to log on and it says "Your account doesn't have a game attached to it, or I may be logging into a different area then when I created it."

Any ideas why?

 

I keep getting an error. When i go into the rar, it asks me for the pass, no problem. I click launch and it gives me the terms of agreement. I click "agree
". Then it brings up the place i want to install it to. I just click start or whatever. Then it gives me a screen that says. "loading launcher", and calculating download time. After about 10 seconds it gives me a error and i have to close it. Please help me, i want to see the world.

You need to extract the files before you run them. (Just drag and drop them on to your desktop or somewhere easy to find.

All you can do is look at the new areas right now. There's no NPCs and you can't play as the new races.

Amazing blupig, shouldn't leak this though! Blizz will find this asap...anyways haven't played wow in the LONGEST time like since wotlk came out but I really want to try this, seems really interesting

Lol it's already all over the internet. If you Google it you'll find the same client on like 50 different links
