Yes, you must be an member and must vote. Trial members can't vote so can't join.

[JEP]

But if I purchase the membership on a trial account for like $2 I can vote ?

You took my question in the wrong way. The original was 'do i need to make a new account and make it a member to become eligible for the trial, or can i use my current account?'

Oh, sorry. No, you don't need to make an new account, any account that is member* and has voted is eligible to join.
*trial accounts don't work to vote, just for information

Thanks bro, so my stats in the 2007 version will be reset, but will stay the same in normal RS, correct?
