Once again another stupid argument. Just because x is more addictive than y doesn't mean y should be legal.1. The fact of the matter is that the amount of people who truly go into addiction and have their lives fucked up is exceedingly small compared to many other drugs... alcohol included, which is legal. Addiction rates are only 9%, the same as Caffeine. Alcohol is 15%, Heroin is 24%, and Nicotine is 33%.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/a...-IQ-signs-normally-seen-early-Alzheimers.html2. I've been smoking weed for almost 2 and a half years. 3-6+ times a day for about 8 months or so. I still happened to get good grades and hang out with friends several times a week. I'm still smoking these days, just not as much, and basically just when I'm with a friend who has some/wants to. Uses weed for the right reasons can greatly aid in avoiding dependency. If you're depressed or struggling with something, and you are abusing weed to cover it up, chances are, even without weed, they would be using some other form of substances instead.
Still a silly argument. Just because some people do it and still have jobs doesn't mean the negative effects aren't there.3. You really should read more careful and learn some better inference skills. The White House and Obama thing was not saying that weed making you successful, it was stating that just because you smoke pot that doesn't mean it's going to fuck up your life. Yeah there's a chance, but that is in your control. It is really quite easy to quit weed for weeks at a time, even if you're addicted; I would know, I've been through it. Also, those 50% of the white house staff had said they smoked pot within 5 years of getting their jobs. That would mean adult usage, unless they get hired right out of high school/college.
