Wait, do you not have an Archer rank?
So been playing it for about 3 weeks now, thought it was gay first 2 days then my friends convinced me to keep going, haven't seen my girlfriend since, aatrox is my main go to, and katarina is second.

Currently level 20, any tips you guys can give? Average game is ended with 15-20/0-4/whatever, although my friends keep telling me at my lvl that means nothing

Alright, right now.. You're probably playing with no teamwork. Everyone just relies on solo play. That will happen till you're level 25+
Just keep trying to play.
First off, try and win your lane. That doesn't mean push all the time, because you will get caught out.

Secondly, if you ever plan on pushing, you need to ward. When I'm in lane and my lane is still in lane. I will harass and last hit CS.

Once I win my lane, I will push CS and then run to another lane. Helping other lanes is a big thing.

You main mid/top (Aatrox/Kat). Kat isn't a very viable pick in higher ELO, cause she won't be able to get CS, and will be shutdown.

Aatrox is good sustain but early game not the best damage. With him, you have to make sure you can't be harassed and still CS, otherwise he'll be rather useless.
Once you get to 30, communication is key. Running in a group when they are down to 2/3 is needed. picking off their fed one is needed. Tons of simple things that not most will be able to pull off, which is the infamous ELO Hell

@Stickly
I don't agree with you that Katarina isn't viable in higher ELO. Everything depends on player skills and teamplay.

@ThePrestigedMuzza
You could sometimes watch high ELO players streaming their games, i.e. Wingsofdeathx who gives a lot of advise during his games. Use www.lolking.net to watch their streams.

The first thing you should focus at is CS'ing (Creep Score). After getting 4-5 kills on 1 target you're getting few gold for killing him so focusing on minions becomes much more efficient. After reaching lvl 30 opponents will become more demanding and killing them won't be as easy as it was before. This forces you to improve your last hitting so even without getting kills you'll have gold advantage and thanks to this you'll win your lane.

Also if you're going to play ranked games it's good to know how to play more than only 2 champions - in ranked games leaders are able to ban 6 champions (your leader 3, enemy leader 3), if they ban both Kata and Aatrox, you'll probably lose your game.

Don't feed, that's all really and its all about teamwork also I use Katarina also I get about 25+ Kills each game with about one or two deaths at the end of the game.

Hmm new to the league?
Well i've played a lot of this game i've gotten 3 accounts to level 30 and play a lot of ranked.
I would say the main things about a good game would be:
CS (this is vital early)
Learning all the roles efficiently
Countering an item build
Correct warding (yes its not just the supports job)
and Communication with your team.

As people have said before you really do need to focus on early game CS because if you don't last hit well, when you get to more competent players (i.e level 30's even though they aren't all the competent) they will overtake you in gold and a lot of the time XP. This will probably throw your lane so make sure you always have greater or atleast close to equal CS to your opponent 30 minions is atleast 600 gold which is enough to pull out an edge on you.

Learning all the roles efficiently this is one of the most useful things i probably did. The reason behind it isn't so you can fill in the unwanted position it's just so you know in game the play style of different positions so when someone comes to help there team or they swap lanes mid game (happens a lot at high level) you still have a good chance against that player.

Countering an item build, basicly you need to keep tabbing whenever you have spare time to just check what the enemy team is doing. so if you went against a laner that stacked 100% AP no armor or magic pen the first thing i would do would be to buy something with magic resist and spell ignorance (i.e banshee veil). Or if you know they have a lot of CC (crowd control (slows stuns etc)) buy something with either spell ignorance or something that dispells stuns and slows.. also you never know if your team is checking what they're building so if you notice they're all building AP instead of any AD then you need to take the time to tell the team this.

In my opinion wards are one of the most over powered items in the game. they don't just show player positions but they also show when they're attacking things like blue buff and gives you the perfect chance to steal such things. they show you when you're going to get ganked and if you have good team communication you can actually get your team to sneakily counter the gank by ganking them. Also it gives you an idea of how good the other teams map control is and hell it kind of gives you an idea about how much gold they have.

Finally there's team communication, if you want to have a good chance of winning you need to be nice and vocal with your team (not just ping random places with no explanation that's just damn annoying! for the whole team.)
try writing what you are pinging about. communication is key because there are 5 of you, the chances are you are going to see something that other members of the team missed out on.

Anyway i could go on for pages about tips for LoL (hell i have on some forums and my website and youtube videos) but i shall stop here :)

I wish you the best of luck, hope i have helped and i apologize if i had grammatical errors i am dyslexic! :)

Haha that's pretty cool dude really informative and useful

Honestly I find the games I do best is stay back hug tower in beginning ( or a little forward but don't push to hard) try to get every last hit...by level 6 have your ult...return at 6 get great item from your last hit cash and then initiate on some level 5's! snowball from there hopefully

The only issue with that strategy is you miss out on a lot of CS due tower hitting, and if you aren't playing solo top or mid theres a high chance of not outleveling anyone!
plus later level games i find that if you do this you will get zoned from the XP and you will not be able to out level anyone!
plus if you roam early game theres a high chance of them getting your tower and the person you were laning against will get a lot of CS and a major amount of XP more then you.
so you have to be carefull if you leave the lane. the best time to leave the lane is when you have pushed it as that is when you will get least xp and least gold from the lane so theres not much point to staying in it :)

Personally i play very aggressive early game with a lot of warding, i will always try to zone out the enemy laner from the xp as then if you do that when you leave they wont get above you for when you return.

I think it all depends upon which position you take, and if you take a solo lane you should focus on zoning out the enemy or making sure you exert a lot of poke on them if they're trying to zone you out :)

your way would work but it is a risky strategy xP you know what they say though, high risk high reward :)

You make a lot of jokes about your girlfriend that are starting to worry me haha =p.

Seriously though, I was the same way... I made my account over three years ago and I never played back then.. it wasn't until other people got me to play that I finally realized both how to play and the fun in the game.

Don't be afraid to make aggressive plays. You won't know your limits til you push them and if its not ranked it doesn't matter so just don't be afraid to make aggro plays and go hard. Once you think you are good enough and you can get good scores most game go ranked and it should be fairly easy.

What the guy above said he said. If you dont play aggresively, you don't play well. Do what the opponents doesn't expect you to. Don't play his game, make him play yours.

In my opinion you're wrong. Aggressive play does not mean playing your game. Someone it'll force you to play opponents game and he'll win. Dyrus plays mostly passively and he's winning his lanes. Playstyle depends on enemy, i.e. if you're Nasus against Riven going aggressive means suicuiding, but if you're Riven against Olaf you should be aggressive because of your really strong early game.
