JaQeX will sue botters for $2500

they do seem serious, and I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped $100,000 in court fees to make an example out of someone.

How did you message them back, you can't reply to Jagex messages?

 

To add on to what sythe said earlier.. Im sure that the memberships that are used along with iBot increase their revenue far greater than it would ever reduce it.

Idk I no typically when I try to reply I get noreply@jagex but this time it was a long scramble of numbers and letters.

 

It is a very good tactic. Cannot go against the botting companies - go against their custommers!

 

It's like the cops, can't stop the drug dealers lets fuck with the users.

 

If they do actually start adding individuals. I think we should make a legal fund. If there are a lot of people involved, I don't think we'd have too much of a problem getting at least a somewhat competent lawyer for like $10k or something.

I can imagine this, but how is Jagex going to try to break even when they are going to have to sue in so many countries and so many legal districts that it isn't even funny. How are they going to collect all the information they need and how are they going to prove that your action effected their income?

 

Yeah, I got an e-mail as well. And it's been confirmed to me that PayPal gave JaGeX the information about anyone who's purchased scripts for the iBot/neXus platform. Honestly, nobody should have anything to worry about. If anything, they'll just take massive gold-farmers to court. IF even that. It's all a simple scare tactic.

 

This seems pretty harsh lol.
I have had some friends who claim to be 'legit' who have received this email so if what they say is true, they may just be targeting innocent players in order to put them off botting.

 

I'm no lawyer but I can pass the bar, I'll take the test become certified and defend you guys for free. I think the bars like 300 though?

 

Jagex won't do this, believe me.
I'm studying in Law and suing particulars would cost them too much money. Suing goldfarmers, such as private website like Gold4Fun is a possibility, considering they could get a good amount of money. Otherwise, it would never be worth it.

Can I ask what exactly is iBot? I have used RSBots, RSBotting, kMiner, and autofighter.org

Has it occurred to anyone:

Unless you got a message in your RS inbox, they probably don't know your RS name. The only way they'd know is if you used the same email. If you only received the email, they know your real life name and such but wouldn't necessarily be able to link it to any accounts and prove you're still or have stopped botting. Maybe a real life name match, but there are a lot of people with the same names, and I don't know if Jagex can access specific names on credit cards within their billing system.

 

Yup my thoughts exactly that's the first thing I checked, my inbox on runescape, no emails, just my hotmail.

 

The message the sent makes it seem like a reverse class action lawsuit. Is something like that even possible? I'm pretty sure I've heard of similar tactics used against groups of people illegally downloading things, so it may be possible.

I'm pretty sure iBot is just Nexus bots.
