Item Duplication - OSRS Update

I am truly interested in how someone can attempt to duplicate items in-game as reflected by the recent OSRS team update bellow. Can anyone break down how this works?

So I totally ignored this email from Jagex cause I don't play the game anymore but reading it now it's kind of funny if their quick fixes are true.

"Certain techniques used in Barbarian Assault for the purpose of speed run completions"

Watching any form of speed runners I would assume the found a glitch within BA that allowed them to somehow break through the course. The other two mentioned I have no idea however and am not sure of the exact method. I did a quick youtube search and got nothing.

 

They're probably keenly watching any world crashes. Even if any large scale item duping took place, they'd roll back the save profiles.

Not gonna deny it but if the dupe was significant enough the prices of those items would of tanked hard, not by couple single digit %. This is well within the margin of error BUT multiple items on same day is suspicious.

 

well it is the day they did the hotfix i remember training on that sunday.
