I was going to post the same quote, but although morally in most peoples eyes it is wrong to seek revenge on someone. I believe it is right, why let something go thinking "karma" is going to get them back for you and have a chance that they live there life absolutely great nothing goes wrong. when you can get your revenge and be there to see it exacted.

If someone insults you, do you insult them back out of anger? I know this may sound cliché, but if you accept it instead of retaliating, your mind will be at peace.

If someone stole something from me, I would steal it back, if I was given the opportunity.

If someone physically assaults me, I'll fight back but only to defend myself.

Is an eye for an eye wrong?

    yes and no
If some one kills your only son, should some one completely incoent be killed for no actions but one's of his father, or the father be killed, i think jail is a waist of money, people are a waist of money, overpopulations is number 1 problem not global warming, i'm not saying i should be the one who lets people live or die, or ever proposing that idea, a better education system, but only 1 childed per family, india in 5 years will have more people then china, because they can have as many children as they want. thats a little off topic, they only way to fully accept the consequences of your actions is for that to inpact you as you have done to it UNTILL a person is that had no direct actions is harmed.

Eye for an Eye is completely right, think about. Originally without all these adaptations we would normally do Eye for an Eye. If someone sliced my arm off, hell I'd slice off theirs, possibly more.

An eye for an eye is not wrong. If you were walking down the street with your wife, and some guy walks up and stabs your wife to death, I am fairly confident that you wouldn't leave it to the jury to decide what happens to this guy.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind, and I agree to some of what Kirby has said.

In some cases, it is wrong. Like, if someone punches me for the fun of it, I am not going to hit him back.

And besides, it is never just eye-for-eye. Most of the time it is eye-for-eye-for-eye-for and so on. If a friend (yes he does this) smacks me in the back of the head, I could smack him back, and he would do something else to retaliate for my retaliation.

So, in short, it is wrong. It is never just eye for an eye, it is more of the one who gets hit last loses, so it just goes on and on.

I don't think its wrong. If someone wronged someone, they deserve to be wronged by that person back, but only that person. Noone else should get involved, it is between the people who have wronged and been wronged.

Is an eye for an eye wrong?

In a theoretically point, it would be right.

For every action, their is an equal and opposite reaction.
Someone pushes you. The opposite action would be a *pushback*.
It is opposite, and it is equal, since push = push.

    However,
if you're going off of morality,
then there would be that whole, do onto others as you would want them to do onto you. If they pushes you, and you push them back, you should expect a push, or something more, in return.

If they push you, and you don't push them, then you've just practiced that. Neither is absolute, since the action has already happened, and the rest depends on basic human instinct, but you should get the idea.

    Well.
I think when someone pushes you, I can push back.
But If someone rapes me, cuts my hand off, no I dont rape/cut his hand, I tell the cops.
