If You Won The Lottery

The article I read said something about instant payout being 800 some mil on the 1.3bil, or closer to the full amount over a 30 year pay out. I've never played, but I started buying tickets last drawing, because it became record breaking - But there is a reason for it. They changed how the numbers work, it used to be a 1 in 128 million chance of winning (i believe?) and now it's 1 in 292mil chance... But it went from a 1/32 chance of winning a small prize to 1/25... Don't ask me how, I don't understand how drawing random numbers can be "changed", that's just what I read...


Anyway, if I won... I'd have to say the first thing I'd do is go out, buy about $50,000 worth of brand new suits... A brand new, off-the line Cadillac. Get my tattoos fixed, buy my mother a new house.... That'd all equal out to less than a mil probably... So, I'd invest in some local business... Buy a couple bars, restaurant or two... Throw the rest into a savings account and the interest on that shit would be around... 4mil/year on 800m from your typical 0.05% interest savings account


EDIT: People can live off 1mil for life if they budget right... 1m in tax free saving bonds comes out to 4% interest, so that's 40k/year to live on.... So, I'd probably blow all but 100mil within the first year, just to say I did... Then live for life off the last 100 lol

 

I would spend every dime of it to truely make the world a better place in the best way it could be spent, no selfishness here.

Yes, it's noble, and I enjoy seeing someone like that... But selfishness is human nature - I would gladly donate a portion to charity... But to give it all up? I don't think I could... But, maybe you're just a better person than I am haha

 

Y'all act like it's so simple to just continue your normal life after winning ~800 million dollars. You want any show about people who win BIG money from the lottery, and their relationships with anyone who isnt close close family is ruined... everyone you know will want a piece of the pie, "oh it's just $10,000 man cmon you won 800 mil that's like a penny to you", or expect you to pay for everything they have. big money changes shit.

me? I'd tell my immediate fam, say I'm moving far away and leaving everyone else behind, maybe give like $200,000 each to the rest of my somewhat immediate family, maybe buy my close friends whatever car they want, then jet out, move to interior BC, buy a big plot of land, buy myself some cool toys (quads, boats, sleds, trucks, cars), then not tell anyone there what happened, stay lowkey, live a nice chill life style ever after

this is fun. i did 10 tickets, 502 draws for $10,022, and I won $1,080. neat.

You can't expect to get that kind of money and proceed with your life as if nothing happened?

I've never bought lottery tickets, but the powerball is so massive right now I bought 2 tickets for the fuck of it.

My dad always said the lottery is a tax for stupid people, and to be honest he's right.

 

Invest it, move somewhere tropical and live life rich for life

How I'd spend it? First thing would be to immediately buy a house and assure all of my friends and family had all their debts and mortgages paid off. I want to believe I'd try to finish my degree but it probably wouldn't happen.

 

It'd be simple to continue my life because I have no meaningful relationships except close close family - So had I been a winner, I wouldn't have to worry about ruining any friendships, I'd just ask these people where they were when I was in need, why I should help them?

On a side note - I won enough last night to pay off the tickets I bought... A whole $4!

 

I was in a similar boat when I left the sim for awhile. Had a 90% ROI each time

Still, esp after hearing some of the people you have hung around with, everyone youve interacted with is gunna try n find you to ask/beg/rob you for some. Nice to hear you won back your money though lol

 

I had to spend 200 years buying 40 tickets a week to win the million. Spent $2.2m on lotto tickets.

 

And hell, why would you want to? If I was a sole winner yesterday I'd be a billionaire, fuck this life, I'm jetting off to France for lunch, brb

 

Holy shit I won. Only took 25 tickets a week for 608 years. Seriously though, If I had invested 120k in tickets and this was the real lotto I would be a billionaire o.o

 

I'd go straight to Las Vegas and have a whole lot of fun.

No you wouldn't but you would be close. Taxes would take 40-50% of your winnings.

 

Pay off all my families mortgages, buy Grandma a new house, buy myself a house, buy & invest in some classic cars, go nuts with tattoo's, and spend the next several years going to gigs.

 

I'd donate $100k to sythe and use the rest to invest

 

I would stay anonymous. Cash out slowly through 30 years. Hire financial advisers and therapists. Pay any debt my family has, and my university fees. I'll also give a decent chunk to charity. I won't be spending the money extravagantly.

 

Damn I played for 700 years and still haven't won yet x_x
