Don't roll a Hunter!
Pick a class with a high skill cap as your first toon, i.e. Mage or Rogue. If you do this you will have a steeper learning curve, however, in the long run, you will be able to pick up other classes and do fairly well after you've learned the micro-management and intensive CC management that deals with the two classes I listed earlier.
Don't make a mistake that costs you 30-55 dollars: Roll Horde, pick a good PvP server, and make >many< friends on your leveling process.
Now, ^ up there I said PvP server, and that's to help you learn micro-management with high skill capped classes because you >will< be attacked, you >will< have mobs stolen, and you >will< be griefed. It's part of the game that everyone should experience to be a better player.
In defence of myself, just because I said those are high skill capped, but they can be played by the average player, with average skill level. I'm only suggesting that you do the previously listed things because lots of players who go into PvP later on have regrets on not being on a good server, or not being the best race for their class. I was rambling and if you need any help I'll monitor the WoW boards fairly often, so I can help you. Alternatively, you can PM me over Sythe.
Probably x3 walls of texts... Sorry >.>
