Hunting - Your opinion on it?

I looked through the first few pages and couldn't see anything like this that was posted before, if so, lock please.

Now, I want to know what everyone's opinion on hunting is. I mean actual hunting, not when you lock an animal in a closed space and simply shoot it for shits and giggles. I mean when you actually go out and use your outdoors skills to track and kill game.

 

It's environmentalism, conservation, and game management. If you live in a building, travel on roads or sidewalks, or eat anything other than game you've killed, then you're having a negative impact on animal habitat, and you have a responsibility to make up for it by participating in methods of preserving our wildlife. To date, the only effective way to do that on a large scale is to hunt. It's naive in the extreme to think of "nature" as something "out there" that's just fine as long as you leave it alone. Human populations have a major impact on the world, and we should do what we can to keep some balance.
