How was runescape made?

Yeah, I believe they took a picture of their engine once. Also didn't they show it in one of the updates?

actuly they do use xsi softimage aswell as a few other programs
then they use there own java program to convert it into a format that is compatible with the 3d engine in the runescape client

 

Well johan i dont totally agree with you, it depends on from what level their taking the private server... if they just take the Landmarks and makes their own engine, like Reines...

Then atleast I think its a good job that will end up with getting sue'd

Well i saw post in here says that they take any coders well heres one ting ( you need finish collage,Get a Computer Science degree( or somtingt like that)
and btw you must be able to work in UK lol ;p

 

where the **** did you learn that?
no they do NOT use softimage.
They use a 3d modeling of their own, one that they created themselves because Maya, Softimage, 3ds Max is too "high def" for them to use.

 

It was made by 5 geeks, 1million+ members and sythe

 

It's pretty complicated seeing that it is a great game. The program must have been huge with many errors that had to be fixed.

Jagex is looking for JAVA programmers but alslo some other programmers that i am unsure of what kinde is... i think i have read that Jagex is using C++/Java to code their games, they got programs that generate codes, it is just that they have to put their codes the places, and then got medel programs that they've made themself, some few ppl may sell something that looks like it (model editor, map editor ETC..)

So it is VERY hard to figure out 100% how jagex is working out with Runescape and other games they have.

But Adrew made a MMORPG with C++ all alone a while back, but it have never been realesed as far as i know.

You, Sir no nothing, I once read through all the updates and squat pictures.

Only reason they went down so much in the beginning is one reason and one reason only, tweaking the server for max connections/less lag/better handling.
