Some versions of LimeWire are legal, don't talk about what you don't know.

Only reason I don't use LimeWire is because it is a sharing network and anyone can access your files if you use it, and I have personal stuff on my PC.

not really its basically all the same, I just downloaded the song instead of getting audio from it off youtube or something, this is a waste of time so I am going to go do something else ^_^ .

The cant just access any of your files.. you have an option to which files your going to share.
Btw alright guide, there is like 5+ guides on this forum on how to get music. Its also nice to be pre-prepared.

ALL versions of Limewire are legal. It is actual piracy that is not.

All that said, this guide is a long way of going about getting the music you want, and you *may* only be able to get low quality (bitrate) music. The method will work though, and he explained it fairly well.

Much simpler, Itunes, Much simpler but free, Limewire... Honestly, this guide wasnt completely useful, but since some songs arent on limewire, I will actually try this . Good find i guess, 7/10

 

Thanks i guess lol. You can get any song on the internet for free this way. Limwire doesnt carry every song known to man.

 

nice one i just type the words from the song that i have heared on yt or in a lyrics site...then download from a torrent/normal download site like data.bg,download.com etc

but this guide is handy-dandy for house and techno music-the one i listen to, because a lot of the cool songs are so famous.

Yea. This method is good, but there are some other ways.

 

Swift, I'm sorry about the necromancy [I've said that a lot today] but...this is, in fact, just as illegal as using LimeWire or any torrent engine. Any method of obtaining copyright-protected music that you have not purchased is in violation with copyright laws in the United States. HOWEVER, this method obviously leaves you at very little risk of getting caught, as you are not connecting to anybody's internet server other than your own and YouTube's [or whatever service you use to get the music], so there's no way of being traced. However, the trade-off for this is a very significant decrease in audio quality. Not only does YouTube limit the bitrate of the songs posted, but so does the stereo-mixer built into the volume control. If you wanted to modify this guide and include these things, I think it'd be the best it can possibly be, but still 7/10

NOT TO HIJACK OR ANYTHING, but here's what I do to extract mp3's from YouTube without further reducing sound quality. 1) get Firefox, 2) get DownloadHelper add-on, 3) download the .flv file, 4) download a .flv to .mp3 converter (I use Vixy.net's offline engine). Voila, this makes it equally impossible to trace, is slightly more difficult but also improves sound quality overall.
