How To Be A Mod?

Is there anyway to increase your already slim chances of becoming a mod?

 

No besides getting a player mod to recommend you but I don't think jagex is accepting mod apps anymore

 

Report advertisers, talk politely, help others out, assist people every 24hrs.

 

Get a recommendation from another player mod, report botters, stay active, don't rack up any blackmarks and assist players.

 

getting a recommendation would be pretty hard but I'll try.

I think they look for people who are polite and helpful ingame, who report players that are breaking the rules (serious reports, not reporting every single person you see), who have fairly good grammar (I have heard this helps), and who are very tight with their account security. This is a HUGE one! I've heard you have a much greater chance if you keep your account very secure, having a hard to guess password, changing your password every 5-6 months, and having recovery questions and a bank pin set. As far as I know, that is all the criteria that Jagex looks for before inviting a player to become a player mod

 

Moderator applications have been closed for around a year now, they haven't stated when they'll open them back up. I don't think they're planning it anytime soon as 60% of moderators are corrupt, they're better off sorting out problems themselves.

 

Change your password monthly, recovery questions bi-monthly, be active and helpful on the forums.

I'm also thinking this, I'd love the corrupt benefits of being a mod.

 

Pmod rec, played for a long time, help others, keep account safe, etc.

 

Just be an all out benefit to the game, but I don't think they're appointing any more Player Moderators.

well that actually sucks! I don't want it for corrupt benifits or anything I just wanna try and get runescape back on track like old days where you could go somewhere and talk to people ect...Now you just get blanked by a bot.

 

Never have any infractions, dont flame, report rule breakers, eh...

i belive the older the and account and the higher level also makes a difference (ex: maxed etc...)

 

Just be yourself and you'll get it in due time if you stand out to them as someone they'd like to be a part of the moderating team.
