How much water do you drink a day?

Generally around 1.5-2.5L, regardless of the weather.

I was always told water cleans your insides out?

Water reduces headaches; keeps your kidneys hydrated so they don't fail or so your urine isn't brown, and should be drunk a lot so you don't restore water weight on your body.

I'm always trying to have something to sip on while i'm at the computer.

Although some States have fluoride in their water supplies, its an insignificant amount which was purposely added by the states Dental Association with the motive that in 10 years time, by drinking that little bit of fluoride that's insignificant to do any damage, but significant enough to help your teeth, the majority of people in the State will have healthier mouths. There's nothing wrong with tap water and I actually think people who refuse to drink tap water are spoilt and arrogant.

It's never been proven. Fluoride actually helps to whiten your teeth though, and is also in toothpaste.

 

3 GAL of water is almost 12 Liters, so around there.
Of course I am active throughout my day, and drink all during class to stay awake and boost metabolism.

I don't drink nearly as much water as I should drink. I drink way too much soda.

 

This is completely untrue. You are making a generalized statement that is actually untrue and irrelevant in many areas. Yes some tap water does have higher levels of iron in it, but as far as if it's bad for you, that's not not your call because there are so many other things people do in their lives that are more hazardous than drinking water out of a tap and you would have no way of telling the difference or knowing which one is which. For instance, drinking alcohol is known to give some people migraines and other medical / psychological problems. But just as people's bodies adjust to drinking alcohol, your body will adjust to the heightened levels of iron and fluoride in the tap water if they exist. So when you have conducted your own tests on your tap water and your city/county's consumable water lines then you can make that distinction of it it is actually bad for you. Until then, don't scare other people with your unproven and unintelligent opinions. And by not drinking water you are digging yourself a grave much quicker than the small amounts of iron and fluoride that MAY exist in your tap water. And where is a scientific paper / report documenting that tap water with high levels of iron and fluoride can make you sick?

No it is not true.

I drink a minimum of 5L per day of tap water, I always have a 32oz nalgene on me and I drain them in a matter of a few minutes without realizing it 3-4 times per day. Then when I am home I always carry a large plastic glass full of water as well. Personally I find bottled water disgusting. There is a very clear taste distinction between tap and bottled water for me. I've also consumed water treated with iodine tablets, with a minimum of four 32oz nalgenes a day for roughly two months while on a very long backpacking trip. If anything, the iodine would've made me sick. And it didn't. I have also drank water treated with Aquamira (cleans water but without iodine) and pumped water with a filtration pump from just about any type of fresh water source you can name. Still no problems. Never had a problem with the tap water of Maryland (currently living there), West Virginia (way out in the woods), New York (lived in Cornwall-on-hudson and separately hiked across the Adirondacks for the two months previously mentioned) , and North Carolina (Asheville and Black Mountain areas living in the woods drinking mountain spring water and treated water for 14 months), these are the states where I have lived and consumed tap water on a daily basis. Tap water has to be tested for safety regularly and it doesn't pass inspection then the public is alerted and told not to drink it, so remember that.
Water can save your life and can improve your daily well being, contrary to some people's beliefs.

It varies on the day and activities. I generally drink at least 3L of water a day, but if I was bad that day it could be as low as 1L.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure it does. I know for a fact is suppresses appetite by drinking water. A glass of water before your meal will fill you up and make you eat less of it.
