How do people recover Runescape accounts?

When I try to recover an account, because I have to test if people can recover accounts, it won't let me. It says give the email, and you when it is wrong six times, it says you can't recover the account and you have tried the email and you can't try to recover for a few minutes.

How do people recover the account without email? Please tell me please.

 

Go to the runescape website, go to forums, then once there go to account help. There's a thread about hijacking etc where jagex moderators are able to respond to you within minutes. Ask them for a manual recovery form, they will give you the link to recover your account the old way. I don't have the link saved, but you should save it for next time.

The current way to recover an account is so retarded. They said it's easier for most people, but it's actually easier for a hacker to secure the account if the owner doesn't know what to do next.

Jagex amuses me.

i had my account stolen and i posted on the RSOF and told them my account was stolen. they locked my account and allowed me to manually recover and i got my account back within an hour.

Your question is retarded, rephrase it. If you have your oldest recovery's with first pins and agreement numbers including some old Internet providers you have used, you should be able to recover it.

@ Op, recovery questions alone will not cut it. You must have at least old details to other questions to ensure your acceptance.

 

Read the question it contradicts itself. I'm not going to argue with mr.noquestion is retarded. Anyway yes, oldest account information is the best if he has the first password ever used then the account recovery is guaranteed.

 

Accounts are also easily recoverable by the owner by requesting the account be locked and an IP check preformed all this other talk is really just secondary and old ways of doing it. With out the original account makers IP shit can get ugly as to who actually owned/owns the account so all this other information could be useful in that situation. In that case faking alot of angry parent emails to [email protected] about why their son/daughter cant play his or her game, you would be surprised as to how often that works.

I've had a mule hacked, and tried to E-Mail them and to be honest I expected to get a e-mail in two weeks.
I checked the next day, and poof, it was there in my mailbox.
They will lock your account and send a link where you can manually recover it with the account info.

I tried to recover, but after 6 attempts it just says you can't anymore.

They have changed that, the only way to recover the account now is with an email. You can email jagex and tell them your account is stolen or whatever and then they will send you a recovery forum.

 

Jagex is currently updating the recovery system to stop login hacks, for example Facebook has SMS login approvals, Jagex within couple months to about a year who knows but there adding SMS Approval system for better safety of the players of Runescape. However theres a down fall about players without cell phone technology and thats were they are debating weather or not to add SMS Approvals.

 

but if your accounts hacked how would you log in to the forums or did you have to make a new account to go into forums?

Just carry on as though you have no e-mail registered. Alternatively, making a post on the forums and awaiting a response or emailing [email protected] is just as effective. Good luck.

 

I emailed them a few times about one of my accounts to the above provided email, never got anything back. They lack a lot now when it comes to helping players recover lost/stolen accounts
