how do i get a regiesterd nick?

[oozabooman]

please help i try and join #sythe but it says i need a registered nick

[Eddy]

They need to set the MOTD to this, or something similar.

You must type
/msg nickserv register password email

Of course, replace the words with the proper values.

To identify, you have to type
/msg nickserv identify password

If you are still having trouble registering, either
/query Edward
and ask me for help or
/msg nickserv help register

[oozabooman]

ok thanks mate but what is MOTD?

[Son Goku]

or just learn how to read

[Cmc]

It says it right when you join any chat... read the red. After you type /ns register pass email, Check your email because SS will send you an email so you can validate your account. This email will have a code on it. Copy and paste that code into irc and you are registered.

Then like Eddy said, just type /ns identify password everytime you first join irc to identify your nick.

Yes, lets set the 'Message Of The Day'.

Eddy had the right idea though;

Type

/ns Register password email

Then check your email (including Spam folder) for a message from irc.Sythe.org, it will contain a activation key, and will tell you how to enter it to activate your account.

After you have activated it, you only have to now type;

/msg NickServ IDENTIFY password
